DOJ: Mueller report contains protected grand jury info - Polidicks

A Justice Department spokeswoman said Barr provided the initial findings “with the understanding that the report itself would be released after the redaction process” and “does not believe the report should be released in serial or piecemeal fashion.”

Barr can ask the court to release the grand jury info.

Meanwhile the people who wrote the report are allegedly stating that Barr is grossly mischaracterizing their findings and that they wrote the report in specific sections that each came with a summary that they expected to be released to the public including instructions on what specifically to redact. If that's true then Barr is even more reckless than a lot of folks here were willing to believe.

AKA 'This report damns Orange in Chief and I'll be fucked if it goes public'.

Considering that Barr seems to be willing to go to any length to protect Trump, has anyone ever considered the possibility that Barr may release a completely forged Mueller report? As in, one that was written by him and other Trump cronies, which Mueller and his team never even worked on? Trump and his supporters would get to claim their report as "the true one" which will of course completely exonerate Trump, while the real report will be put down as a fake Democrat conspiracy. This would essentially completely disarm the report in the eyes of the public.

I'm not even sure where to start, why would they do that? Even from a "protecting Trump" standpoint it makes no sense. If they released a forged report, Mueller's team would just disconfirm it, as would anyone else who has seen the actual report and isn't a Trump cronie. It'd get shot down the minute it's released, and it'd only serve to discredit Trump & Co further.

I halfway believe that this is exactly why Mueller claimed (or at least is claimed in Barr's summary) that the decision was up to the AG. If the AG states nothing happened when Mueller's report clearly shows something DID happen, then Barr is complicit in obstruction of justice.
