There is just something about Oblivion, despite its numerous flaws, that just captivates me like no other TES game has. Like even now I would have no issues going back and playing it, even pure vanilla.
And I definitely agree with his point of Oblivion having one of the most memorable soundtracks. Also reminds me of how apparently, Jeremy Soule wrote Oblivion's soundtrack after surviving a car crash. His new found love and admiration for life after potentially facing death served as the inspiration for the tone of Oblivion's OST, and it really shows. The exploration tracks are just so beautiful and full of wonder. I can't ever get tired of them.
I personally prefer Skyrim's soundtrack but Oblivion is almost as good for me. I just felt that Skyrim's music was more distinct from a lot of video game fantasy soundtracks and it fit its environment better. Still, there are some lovely bits. I especially like one of the pieces from Oblivion that I have been unable to find. I uploaded a recording of me playing a rough approximation to Soundcloud the other day. Does anybody recognise which track this is from? I am probably just being stupid and somehow missing it:

In terms of Oblivion as a game though, I loved the Dark Brotherhood questline but my biggest gripe with Oblivion was the level and equipment scaling system rendering upgrades kinda pointless. The levelling system was also pretty weird and not at all intuitive for newcomers. Still, it was a pretty decent game. I preferred Morrowind and Skyrim though.
The track is Auriel's Ascension, the piano bit is about 30 seconds in:

Oblivion is my absolute favorite game of all time; it’s my happy place. If I was gonna die tomorrow and I could only play one more game, I’d play TES4.
For me Oblivion always really hit that sweet spot perfectly balancing accessibility and complexity. Morrowind is still a great game, but it's just too archaic and complex at times, and Skyrim is so simplified as to be boring (on top of the writing being a massive downgrade and having exactly zero memorable quests). Oblivion, warts and all, is just right for me.
