• Growing problem with Vanilla servers

Its less than 24 hours since the forced wipe for all servers. I have VIP access to Rustified EU Long 1 & 2 servers, only benefit is to not have to wait in a queue to get on. I was on some 2-3 hours after the update, couldn't sleep & was a late night ;) But I noticed people had already large sheet metal bases with external walls & gates. People we're also running around with AK's & one base, being raided with C4 & rockets. Because this, I decided no longer to renew my VIP when it expires. So, I quickly popped on to other vanilla servers, to see if this was more widespread. And I was seeing people with weapon's they shouldn't/couldn't possibly get that quickly. One one server, they had high walled around a HQM quarry. And I double checked, the servers all stated they we're wiped 4th April. Now, I have to question. Are vanilla servers really vanilla? Are admins awarding friends with box's of loot & a bag to get started? I know server notifies everyone when the admins/server award people stuff. But just like Rustified. When the server first comes online, you have time to connect before the horde join. And during that period, there's no reason some players could be awarded everything they need to get going. Now, I run a few modded servers. Modded to improve game play & enjoyably. Not in any way a PVP fest. But playing Vanilla's are a full time job. You can't achieve anything playing solo. And I find it rather isolating, to think the game is trying to single out solo players & favour group players. I think FP need to do something to balance out this game & look into vanilla servers. Because they're categorised as official. But, from my experience, I can't see how legit any of them are, when so soon after a full wipe, people have kitted themselves out with bases & weapons so quickly. One more thing. I think if you have name tags disabled, people who have it enabled, should not be able to see your name tag. This is being abused at night, because if you get close to someone hiding, you can't see them. But that pop up name tag does the trick.
You think admins are spawning in loot on official servers am i correct. From my knowledge most official servers if not all do not have active admins for this reason. Also the reason the people have ak's ect is because they snowballed or apart of a clan. It really is not hard to get ak gear sets first day of wipe.
Erm, you can have admin access on official servers. Not in the sense you give admin access to groups. I'm referring to the one person who runs & pays for the server. They'll have direct console access, free to award whatever in the locked first few minutes of a server coming online. And yes, your correct. Clan's can if they work collectively. But that'd be noticeable & obvious. Things shouldn't become that easy, especially when the first day of a wipe, it'll require a lot of scrap to research lvl3 items get the AK. Highly doubtful legitimately, people are taking down the heli or apc.
Are you telling me you think Rust developers are prioritizing logging into official servers and spamming admin drop commands to give whoever's first on the server a bunch of free shit, and that's the FIRST thing they want to do after they release a patch? That seems pretty unlikely.
Wow man what are you smoking?
Thats what happens on popular servers, bunch of players team up and run monuments together, and swarm air drops, run the Oil Rig, and farm resources fast. I as a solo can have everything you explained in probably my first day provided I can get to and from areas without being zerged.
A trio or better can ramp up insanely fast on 1st few hours of a wipe, if they are in the front of the pack. A mid- to low-population server can turn three hard-running people into Princes on the first day. Hit the ground running, group up, stay ahead of the thundering herd while running deep. I have no idea if the developers publish changes they may make to the vanilla loot tables. What you are experiencing could be a change to loot tables that gets more firearms out quickly in airdrops and hack crates. Your preferred style of play should be a factor when choosing a server. High-pop is not for everyone.
So the game is basically designed for groups & not solo's, is what you're saying? Maybe this is the case & players are grouping to horde everything quickly. But the server quickly becomes impossible to start up as a solo after the first 2/3 days of a wipe. And you can never get on in the first few days on the popular servers, unless you pay for VIP access. Don't get me wrong, I love the game. But it's seriously hard for the solo player. That's not saying they don't have friends. Its just that sometimes, people do log on when their friends aren't available or just because they're not that fussed about making friends. Its a game at the end of the day, not a social network. But the game is becoming more & more difficult for solo players to achieve anything. Even having people build bases at spawn points with auto turrets, mowing down anyone who spawns. I've tried groups & I know life is so much easier as a group. But the game isn't supposed to be easy. But I don't think it's supposed to be impossible for solo's either. On the official server I play on. We have people building auto turrets along roads where all the loot spawns. They've completely encircled bandit camp with auto turrets & in the process of doing so with the outpost. That for me, ruins a server.
Solo is more difficult in a server that allows groups. It is also more difficult on a smaller map. High population makes it harder still. Not every server will be a good place for solo. There are literally thousands of servers to choose from. Like I stated above... It depends on how you like to play. Rust is a sandbox with possibilities for many variations of play style and server setup. Taking the time to perform due diligence before joining a server may increase your enjoyment. Playing on Official servers is for masochists who enjoy being raped and hacked and otherwise treated like cannon fodder. There is no moderation or admins. If that is your cup of tea, great. If not... move on to a community or modded server.
