Fucking disgusting.
But hilarious.
whose website Rich Meet Beautiful claimed to offer a “Fifty Shades of Grey” experience to young women So many obvious jokes here, I don't even know where to begin.
That doesn't mean it should be illegal. It shouldn't be. As long as it's consensual, the government should stay the fuck out of the way.
having a sugar daddy means you're essentially a concubine
whose website Rich Meet Beautiful claimed to offer a “Fifty Shades of Grey” experience to young women So, a romcom biasing more towards sitcom with TV levels of writing quality? (going off the movies, that imo felt like a comedy tv show series)
i think it is a bit morally unsavoury, potentially exploitative, and a symbol of things getting worse. i don't think i would vote to ban it but i won't ever see it as a good thing. i've talked to too many college-aged women who's plan to get out of college debt is to either marry rich or become a sugarbaby and get them to pay it off. not really a sustainable life plan, for one, and it can lead to financially-vulnerable people being exploited. if you want to go that route, go ahead, but it isn't something that i think should really be promoted.
It's only a sign of things getting worse if it's an escalating trend, this kind of thing has existed literally forever, nowadays you have the -choice- to be that or not.
This sort of thing will always happen as long as there's deep rooted wealth inequality. Trying to ban a symptom of a problem would be pointless.
Exactly my thoughts. Why is this illegal in the first place? If someone wants to live life as a sugar baby they have every right to do so, and there's nothing wrong with a dating site focused on facilitating such arrangements.
It’s insane how much money you can make off of dates like these, an acquaintance of my gf literally makes 2-3000$ per date (plus food and whatever).
Out of curiosity, checked their site and https://i.imgur.com/BNR8eKY.png hehe
Ah yes, {{brand}}, it is the most unique indeed.
..my brand
nobody needs a daddy more than girls coming from extreme wealth, trust me.
But is there a version of this website for men seeking rich women?
Consenting. Adults. While I'd love to live in your magic taffy colored world, pretty sure it doesn't exist.
honestly, stating "consenting adults" and leaving it at that without deeper examination of the moral implications seems more like a "magic taffy colored" worldview to me. promoting and profiting off of encouraging women to get into relationships with people they might never normally go for, potentially leading to them becoming financially dependant on them, is morally dubious at best. one of the main reasons people stay in abusive relationships is because they are financially dependant on their abuser, is encouraging young women who might be particularly financially vulnerable to get into a relationship with someone who they don't really know besides their income something we should not consider because there was some consent at some point in the process? most abusive relationships start out consensual, too.
I do agree with this but at the end of the day there's no good solution, you either ban it and punish innocent people with a kink, or you ban it and prevent possible abusive relationships. There exists no good solution.
Or you could address the root causes instead, like try to fix financial vulnerability and wealth equality.
That's not the root cause of sugar daddies. Literally everyone I know (and know of) who does that comes from at least middle class, usually higher.
Perhaps you are right. Nevertheless, if there are no disproportionately wealthy people, there can be no sugar daddies. Simple solution.
It's a solution if you think that sugar daddies are a problem to be solved, maybe. It's also not even true. A single, older, white collar professional worker is going to have a lot of expendable income to bust. I mean hell, our system is set up so that such people can make enough to support a while family.
I don't know even how sugardaddy relationships usually go or how long they last, but I've gotten the impression that it's all about a rich man going around with a more or less attractive, young woman and buying her a bunch of stuff. And without involving any sex even, just playing around in public. I find nothing attractive about this, and to me it reeks of desperation on the man's part. As for the woman? Easy money for sure if you pick the right sugardaddy. I think it's a pretty stupid thing the whole thing, but it doesn't do much, let alone hurt anyone. Like just yesterday in a restaurant I saw one of these couples, and it seemed hella awkward that's all. I don't see what kind of gratification the man could have possibly gotten out of their date.
Historical ignorance at work. Look at a history book dude. This shit isn't "new".
You could fix them, but that's going to take a long time, we are discussing the current situation, not a future.
Then you are out of options.
yeah that's why I said it's a hard thing to solve, no solution will work perfectly
