I have the following currently. Intel Core i9-9900K 4.8 max EVGA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti FTW3 Ultra Asus ROG Maximus X Hero Samsung 960 Pro G.SKILL 32GB 3000MHz EVGA 850 W PSU ROG SWIFT PG279Q Fractal Desing Define R5 Corsair H150i Running at 1440p I max out at 100 FPS. I have made sure that everything is stable and runs amazingly on all other games. After my research I have come to find that the problem is either Facepunch and their optimization with my 2080 Ti FTW3 Ultra or the Nvidia drivers. Please let me know what you guys think on this matter.
"Poor performance" Like shit If you're not dipping below 60 whats really the issue here. I own a 165hz and yeah, getting the most FPS as possible is great, but it's an extreme niche. If you run at a higher hz you'll have to sacrifice a lot for that larger framerate. No dev will optimize for that framerate unless they're making a game geared very much towards the niche 144hz aims for
My set-up should be racking up insane fps in this game. "No dev will optimize for that framerate unless they're making a game geared very much towards the niche 144hz aims for" Sounds as if it is a dev issue and thanks for the snarky response? Oh yeah... it's a Rust forum... land of the salt.
It sounds more like you're expecting too much and therefore getting nothing in return You're already getting high FPS, the issue is you want absurd FPS. On one hand, I say that 2160p and should be the universal standard, and once it's cheap enough, 2160p will become said standard, as well 1440p. Same goes for high Hz. 1440p/144hz monitors should just be a cheap given for gaming once its affordable. But the reality is that it's in the extreme niche minority Why should they develop for pretty much less than 5% of the total userbase High resolution alone already is absurdly low https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/716/e3b69bf8-28dd-4532-b9af-f6b7a4a887f7/image.png High Hz monitors are even less common. Not only are you getting above average performance but you're doing it on a resolution that accounts for 4.53% of steams entire userbase, and then calling it 'poor performance'. I don't know, you just seem to be sniffing your own farts here.
Might be a dumb question but have you changed the fps limit in game? If not press F1 and type fps.limit 0. I'm pretty sure Rust is capped at 100 fps as default.
Thanks CYNIC, yeah I have done that already.
u again? i bet u call 30 fps godlike ultra u fool
The human eye can only see 24 fps at 720p idiot
nah lmfao are u being retarded? how can human eye see at '720p'? What if it was 60's would it be 144p? l0000000l u legit got 1 iq fam

Unsure whether this was already brought up but rust naturally caps FPS at 100. 100 fps is perfectly fine, why do you need more? Anyway you can uncap it by pressing f1 in game and typing `fps.limit -1` Its either -1 or 0, sorry I forgot XD
