I sincerely loved Spike And Barley after discovering them by accident, the fact that they didn't get as big as Two Best Friends was simply unfair, They were literally every bit as good in their own way.
And its gone already.
Barley used to post here, not sure if he still does. Have him on steam but haven't really talked to him since the break up.
I dunno how much of what happened I'd call teenage-esque drama. I still don't know what happened between Spike and Barley, but it didn't seem like they got off on very sour terms. Renny and Shadow really screwed Spike over, though.
Spike and Barley unfortunately had a pretty nasty fight also from what I remember, and even though they still tried to post videos in 2.0 after the fight their content never felt quite the same afterwards. From what I remember it was a responsibility related fight which resulted from them being too pressured by the fans.
Every year or so I go through their Afraid of Monsters playthrough. Can't get enough of it. Loved animating some of their best moments.
Where did all this drama come from? I thought RennyB and Shadow were cool guys. Heck, I never even understood why Spike and Barley broke up.
I can barely recall the details of RennyB's falling-out with Spike, just that he really hated Spike's girlfriend and was acting abrasive. Shadow actually swindled some money out of Spike with a fake terminal illness scare.
