https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0770rsZIaFc There's not really any articles that aren't from Fox or some other websites I've never heard of, so I guess I'll summarise this. A couple of teenagers reached out to Gravel to get him to run in 2020 with the sole intent of losing, because if a candidate receives 65k individual donations, they are able to go on the debates. After the debates, Gravel will drop out and support the most progressive candidate. Gravel wants to push progressive candidates, namely Bernie and Warren further left on issues like the border, American intervention in countries, among other things. The teens behind this have been shitposting on twitter for a while now and their gaining quite a lot of traction from it. Mike is nearly at 10k donations now, if you're a US citizen and you want this shit to happen, donate a dollar to his campaign here: https://secure.actblue.com/donate/mikegravel2020 The guys behind it are also running an AMA right now: https://www.reddit.com/r/ChapoTrapHouse/comments/baxpi1/mike_gravel_2020_campaign_ama_gravel_teens_tell/
Mike Gravel, The Rock's older, more refined cousin.
I always thought bitching about Bernies age was a bit silly when the same people who complained were OK with Trump, whose not even that much younger this dude is fucking 88 years old this thing where we are electing ancient windbags is fucking stupid. Get young people with vigor and actually new ideas in there.
well done on not reading anything i wrote or watching the video
Fair enough, I'm seeing so many candidates it makes my head spin
You didn't even need to read much to understand that he's planning to be more of a disruptive candidate in that he plans to bring progressive issues to the fore without seriously attempting to win the presidency.
As far as I can tell this seems to be what I see in Yang There is literally no way he'll be elected (Yang) and no way UBI will be voted in. But he is bringing it out into the open.
He's also potentially splitting the progressive vote and his policies aren't though through at all, the worst culprit being his UBI which he plans to fund through VAT.
Unless the people who are "just trying to bring the issues into the open" drop out before any actual voting happens, they will just be spoilers. No ifs, and, or buts about it.
Good thing he says he has an intent to drop out, otherwise he may very well just win
he has no intention of winning and will drop out before any voting. i think it's a good idea and id pay my dollar if i was american to try get him on the debates.
I don't get why this gets brought up so much recently, isn't this what the primary election is for? Unless they all run as independents, won't they just be sorted out in the primary and then there won't be any spoiler effect from them?
Gravel will spoil Bernie and Warren's votes in the primary, like how Booker will spoil Biden's.
which is why he's dropping out before the primaries, hes like 89, he doesnt even want to be president
After watch his announcement video, he become my uniquely favorite fifth and permanently last Democratic Primary candidate after Yang, even he not seriously running for president. And this also given me to think, Bernie needs him as either his Vice Presidential running mate or part of his future Administration in some way.
Apparently this guy is a 9/11 truther That would make the Speaker the most important job in the world
Even he allegedly a conspiracy theorist nut (and also allegedly but improbable "far-left" Anti-Semite, according to his Wikipedia 2020 presidential campaign page), he still running in very good intentions as a short-lived presidential candidate.
yea both the kids running his campaign are jewish and have aknowldeged this, basically said they dont believe in things hes said in the past and that gravel himself regrets and does not stand for those ideas
I guess so then...
