When turning on the mobile hotspot on my laptop, my internet connection breaks (windows says the DNS server isn't responding) and I have no idea why it started happening suddenly. My network setup is a bit weird but it's temporary and having that hotspot isn't completely necessary but it would be nice to use wifi on my phone. I have a USB wifi dongle that connects to my home router (it's placed outside and has a 3m cable going to it) and I'm trying to activate the hotspot on my laptop's internal wifi adapter (but that doesn't seem to be working). It did work for some time and then I'm guessing an update or something broke the hotspot. I looked online for some fixes and a lot of forums had a solution to open up cmd and type "netsh wlan show drivers" and check my laptop's adapter for Hosted Network Support. That was disabled for some reason and a quick driver update fixed it and the hotspot worked for a grand total of 2 days before breaking again. I've tried disabling firewalls, adding manual DNS IPs to my connection, re-installing drivers etc. I didn't try to re-install/reset windows and I hope that's something that can be avoided.
Going into windows settings>network & internet > status > network reset seems to have fixed it (at least temporarily)
