https://www.cleveland.com/open/2019/04/organizers-pull-the-plug-on-proposal-ditching-electoral-college-in-ohio.html Organizers have aborted their attempt to change Ohio’s constitution to award the state’s presidential electoral votes to the winner of the national popular vote, regardless of who wins Ohio.
the bill had no movement in the state and there's no appetite for it here given the solid red tilt of the state now
The entire rust belt is slowly going to go red as the sun belt goes blue.
PA is probably going to reflect the north east more, ohio is just following indiana, after Taft left office under scandal the democrats have basically collapsed here as half our major cities are in terrible shape
Why wouldn't they just campaign to join the popular vote interstate compact? Ohio has legislation pending for it anyway. . .The NPVIC doesn't go into effect until it controls the electoral college (has a majority). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Popular_Vote_Interstate_Compact
