I'll be glad when this octogenarian prick keels over and expires
Something needs to be done to orevent and senate leader from literally voting for everyone. Too much power for one person.
That can be arranged if you want it so badly. People are just looking for an excuse to deal with you, you octogenarian cretin.
This is why I object to comparing Republicans to serial killers, by now this senate has killed more people than most killers do.
Republicans in the Senate could vote him out in favor of a new majority leader at any time. They're complicit in this.
Why is it even possible for the majority leader to just dismiss bills out of hand and not even allow them to be voted on? That's as undemocratic as it can get, especially when he's a member of the President's cult. That's completely against the spirit of separation of powers!
GOP gave themselves the exclusive power when they took ccontrol in 2014
It's a good thing legislators are covered under a good healthcare policy, so he'll be around for a while.
Make it so they only get paid if they actually deal with bills that come in. Once the money stops flowing, he'll allow a vote.
Reminder that McConnell would not be alive if not for socialized medicine
Only in a dream would this happen, many congressmen are funded by some of the wealthiest groups in the world to which these congressmen's expenses are mere pennies on the budgets of the rich.
oh but he jumped on the Green Deal, what gives? Could it be that conservative voters would even support this?
Fuck this guy and his lack of a chin
While I don't agree with the practice in all cases, it's probably got it's roots in efficiency, and trying to keep the legislative bodies moving. Eg if majority leader knows x bill won't pass, why make Senate spend resources/time on it that could be spent on other bills that can actually pass.
That's an assumption, but a fair one given the hyper procedural nature of our bodies, committees, etc. that are designed to filter out bills.
It'd be interesting to know whether there is any kind of mechanism to force a vote.
They made it so only the majority leader can bring a bill to a vote unless every single senator approves, which the majority leader would obviously never agree to
I'd think the minority leader should be able to do the same, given this is obviously biased towards the party holding the majority.
He pretty much just openly admitted the poor should get even more destitute if something medical happens to them. Fuckoff, turtlecunt. Hope you lose reelection and die penniless and alone of a preventable disease you couldnt affort to treat...
it isn't since senators are directly elected by popular vote, kentuckians are just that content to vote blindly for Mitch Mcconnell and the Pauls when their standard of living has taken a massive sustained decline under both of their tenure
How long till someone who's gone terminally ill due to the GOP's war against health care decides to just murder-suicide McConnell or one of his friends.
In an ideal world, 2 years ago
Having a baby in 4 months and the one thing I'm scared most of is the health care bills of baby. Fuck the Republicans.
Seriously, someone just set him on fire already. He's killing people.
He wouldn't be a Republican if he wasn't.
So this is what they mean by part of "small government", smaller number of people (mostly theirs) and they hold all the power. It makes perfect sense now.
TBH if they did I wouldn't blame them, parasites like McConnell are asking for someone with a lot less to lose/less mental balance to snap and put a bullet in them. It's ironic, really - given he suffered from polio as a toddler and his family "almost went broke" from the costs of treating and dealing with it.
