• I hacked, and that's on me. Not asking for an unban.

I recoil scripted on my main account (~1600 hours). I have no one to blame but myself, I thought I would combat the hacking problem by hacking and that was just fucking stupid and wrong of me, I became the problem. I do not want nor ask for that account to be unbanned, but I bought a new one and have made sure all of my hacks were uninstalled and no longer on my computer, and after just 1 hour of playing my new account I was EAC banned. That really sucked, as I haven't been hacking nor was the software on my computer, I'm assuming they are doing some sort of IP or HWID tracking on me. I love Rust, it quickly became one of my favorite games as soon as I picked it up and it was foolish of me to repay the creators of a game that has given me so much entertainment by cheating, and while my new account was banned as well, I still feel guilty about hacking and I don't care if that one gets unbanned either. I just want to know that I can play this game, that I'm not going to be banned forever no matter how many new accounts I buy. I would gladly give you guys ANOTHER $20 and start over AGAIN, I just don't want the looming fear that I'm going to be banned when I have no intention of hacking again. Was my computer placed on a banlist? If so, is there any way for me to atone for this? Once again, I'm sorry and I fully expect some people in here to tear me apart, and I don't blame you all for it. Hackers make this game unenjoyable and I've contributed. I sincerely apologize to the whole community.
EAC uses HWID bans to ban your machine, because hackers would do exactly that, get banned, buy Rust on a new account and start the cycle over, get banned, buy another copy, rinse repeat. As usual, cheaters ruin it for everyone -- there used to be leniency but it was abused past the breaking point. I'm not an EAC rep so I don't know exactly what has to change to count as a new computer (and I doubt EAC would say exactly, because that'd give the diehard cheaters info), but I imagine a new CPU and motherboard would be required. Save yourself the cost of buying new copies until you change a significant amount of your hardware.
Your second account got banned because for the past few years a ban in Rust also results in a HWID ban. This was done due to the amount of cheaters who would get banned, buy Rust on a new Steam account, get banned for cheating again, repeat. You can't play Rust from your current hardware any more. You would need to build a new machine with new parts. That's the way it is, it cannot be negotiated on this community forum.
Well the thing with EAC, is they collect everything they possibly can from your computer so while a HWID ban is not necessarily difficult to bypass, you will need to make sure to use a new Steam account, avoid using payment methods you've previously used through steam, a clean install of windows and also, avoid using the same HDD/SSD a USB stick is a better option. So if you don't want to buy an entirely new PC, there are ways to get around it but nothing is 100%, you will need to be on top of it because everything could be going fine, then you'll get a ban after 100 hours or however long. So if you're really keen, and don't want to spend a stupid amount of money for a new computer to play a game, there are ways around it but you'll have to figure it out. Good luck.
