The only glimmer of hope is scale of incompetence and loopholes written in law's language - it might be used to quickly detain people, but no real full scale "China" style block can be implemented, and it being such an expensive mess only gives more opportunity to steal from budjet.
I wouldn't be suprised if Russia imploded within the next 10-20 years
one can only wonder how much more money they have left to squander on vanity projects like this. Russia's new military projects like the nuclear cruise missile are all very expensive and have very little application.
They might come in handy in the future.
Can they go ahead and pull the switch then? Online gaming would improve tenfold for the rest of us
SLAM had among other glaring flaws, no real ability for ground crews to handle or store the fully assembled weapon let alone maintain it at full alert.
That seems to be the upside of this. Putin knows how to maintain his own seat of power and murder the opposition, but he's not very good at running a country as a whole. Also he's kind of backed himself into a corner when it comes to corruption because his organization is so reliant on exploiting certain corrupt elements to function that he can't risk taking aim at the corruption that can undermine him.
