THE FUCKING EMPEROR What
That's what happens when fan reaction to the previous movie is so bad.
Except the movie was a success.
Poor JJ, you can only do so much with your story after a complete buffoon ruins it.
It wasn't ruined.

I mean, we don't have any real context for it yet. God only knows how it'll actually work in the film...

"We have not announced any specific plans for movies thereafter," Iger said, though noting that there are movies in development, like "The Last Jedi" director Rian Johnson's previously announced new trilogy he's currently working on. "We will take a pause, some time, and reset," he went on to say, "because the Skywalker saga comes to an end with this ninth movie. There will be other 'Stars Wars' movies, but there will be a bit of a hiatus." Bob Iger will be the final say on anything Lucas Film is doing.
Every single teaser in the new trilogy has started with a close-up shot of a main character panting
It could easily just be Rey having to deal with a bunch of different Force ghosts.
i mean last jedi literally had force ghost interplanetary teleportation, whos to say Sheev didn't use that on the death star in return of the jedi
That quote says Rian's movies are in development.
Let me just scream while i'm falling down a shaft to pretend to die, disappear for 30 years and come back to haunt the unborn random Force sensitive girl that nobody will think to look for. i hope the story makes sense.
No-one has even mentioned that character. No, it says there will be a hiatus and a reset, regardless of any current plans.
And Rian just said recently that he's starting work on his after his Current movie releases at the end of the year.
star wars will take a break but it doesnt mean movie production wont stop, movies take years to make lol

Iger said, though noting that there are movies in development, like "The Last Jedi" director Rian Johnson's previously announced new trilogy he's currently working on. It literally says in what you quoted that Iger noted that Rian's movie is in development.
my random star wars edit comes in handy for this teaser https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J1yq08fyJPI
Fun fact, STOP FUCKING ARGUING ABOUT THE LAST JEDI! There's NEW Star Wars to argue about!
Tuskin the movie was a complete fucking disaster. Sure it made it's money but it was a fucking disaster for the fanbase. It's okay that you liked it but literally NOTHING has come out about Rin's trilogy other then a quiet "hey it's still being made!". Kathleen asked JJ Abrams to comeback because Episode 7 had a better fan reception then 8 and guess what? Star Wars is on hold after this movie. Why? Riding on Episode 7's success they said there would be a Star Wars movie every year with a numbered title being very second year. What happened to that plan? Oh yeah episode 8 happened. Just because something sells doesn't mean it's not fucking shit or didn't have fan backlash and cause a PR disaster. Besides that I'm actually interested in Episode 9 after that trailer but still a bit apprehensive after 8
Amazing, everything you just said was wrong.
idc about any of the other movies, if they bring back palpy i'm gonna shit myself with joy
It's def Palpatine laughing, they had his actor, Ian, come on stage at celebration after the trailer. He didn't say anything except 'Roll it again' in his Palpatine voice.
I don't know how to delete quotes on mobile so stay with me. Why would they ask Rian for episode 9 when he has his own trilogy to work on? Are you serious Tuskin? Do you just blindly agree with PR talk?
the sound quality of the laugh in the trailer kinda sounds like it was ripped from one of the older movies tbf
you know it's very possible for plans to change especially considering they have probably realized now that over saturating movie theaters with Star Wars movies of varying quality is probably not the best plan. Planning a trilogy also takes time. I guarantee we'll be hearing details about it by 2021
Because his Trilogy wasn't set to start until after Episode 9 was meant to come out. I have no reason to think Rian was lying about this.
