Why do you not care about existing unsightly errors instead of more and more integrated into the game?
e.g.
- It rains into the base in spite of HQ roof
- The server banner is always distorted despite 512x256 pixels
Rust is a very nice game, only I would wish for you, before new things are implemented, the existing ones should first be properly run.
Kind regards
Rob
I simply love seeing these type of posts. People think this game needs to cater to just them and their needs and they completely disregard game status
I have to agree though. It seems to me that the devs are treating this more like a weekend project instead of one in a professional setting. Even in my company (which sucks at crating software) deploying a product like this would not be a good idea. I can see that there are a lot of different PCs and configurations and this is a large and complex project, so bugs in the endproduct are to be expected, especially considering the monthly release cycle. But there have been so many problems that it literally took over hundred hours for me to look for workarounds and fixes and there rarely are any official statements on anything. It seems to me that the devs spend about half of their time implementing new fun features on a hunch, which seem to often end up in a half finished or broken state, instead of improving or keeping the quality.
The lighting system doesn't work - lights are cast through objects, waves were too strong and needed a patch, server performance is down to 5 fps from 250, some monument puzzles tend to be broken, the oil rigs are heavily bugged as is the cargo ship and the list goes on. Also this was just introduced in two updates.
Maybe my view doesn't reflect what is going on behind the scenes too well. I don't know what is happening inside of the Facepunch Studios. But in any case, the quality right now is critically low, testing is clearly insufficient and the communication is really lacking. If I knew what was going on and had a little bit of support (like with a public bug tracking system) my opinion on this might be different. But as it stands I would supports the OPs claims.
