G'day all As the title suggests, having trouble at the moment getting a .cgf asset into blender for referencing, but for the life of me am having no success. I'm currently using the cryengine-converter that uses powershell but that isn't working and I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. Was curious if there was anyone out there with experience who give us a hand so I can get this out of the way for good. Cheers
Ohh my man I was also struggling with dat sh*it for so long. BUT yer lucky cuz I figured out how to do it. SO Dont use cgf converter for static props ! Use it only for props with bones 'n stuff ! For static props, use Noesis https://www.richwhitehouse.com/index.php?content=inc_projects.php. I cant remember do u need a cryengine plugin or not ( Just google it in case of need, or reply me ) Dont forget about textures which comes in .dds format. Idk why, but sometimes UV maps of props could be mirrored or flipped ! So just load 3D model in blender --> go to edit mode --> select all model --> and just Unwrap it. --> load your texture and match UV to it ( think logically, flip it, mirror it 'n stuff ) If u have any question - feel free to chat me anywhere In case u've done everything right, it should look like this: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1481666199 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1429701878
G'day mate Appreciate the response. I'm looking to port one of the vehicles from Armoured Warfare (which of course uses .cgf and .pak files [of which .pak files are easy enough to open]), I don't need the textures or anything as I'm making my own model of the vehicle, I wish to use the vehicle as a nice 3D reference for my modelling though. I have seen Neosis but I haven't come across any actual good guides regarding cryengine so I've decided to not touch it, until now of course. Are you able to provide some quick steps on how to use neosis for cryengine? Or guide me in the right direction? I've downloaded it but dont know where to start, or whether its the same process for Cryengine as it for other games of which the tutorials are focused on. Cheers

Hey mate That video is great! Though only problem is that I don't have the 'cryengine_cgf.dll' plugin and I have no idea where to get it. I just did a pretty indepth google search and couldn't find it for the life of me, as it doesn't look like its available anywhere, even on the Neosis website. Pretty sure thats all I need, as your videos shows perfectly how neosis itself works for cgfs! Cheers
Hopefully, I wouldn't get banned for posting .dll file cryengine_cgf.dll
Absolute legend mate it worked! Thankyou very much! If it wasn't for your help mate who knows how long I would have been at it. Hopefully you dont get banned as you're helping someone out, would be a bit silly. Thanks one again! Cheers
I know this thread is already dead, but worth trying... U said u're creating a model in Blender, right ? I have 1 question: How to add cybemap reflections to the model without rendering this env. map on the background ?
I've ghosted this forum for quite a while and seen whats on offer so I thought I'd ask. I havent added any texture files, I just wanted to mesh of the vehicle so I can compare it to my mine and make any adjustments if necessary to make it look better. I'm making it for Arma 3 and beyond.
