You will just learn to use your middle finder instead of your index finger, it's not that much of a handicap. Losing your thumb is by far the worst.

It's true that the thumb would be the worst, but I was only really thinking of the other fingers at the time. Still, I'm much more dextrous with my index finger than any other so I don't know that the middle finger would be a good replacement in my case.
