Rust Suggestion List - General Discussion

Rust Suggestion list, made by evayg (3.5k rust hours). This is my list and how i think the current state of rust should be improved. I put 23 things down here: New ideas, Buffs, Nerfs, Bugs & Exploits, Quality of life changes & new items. By making this list i hope that some people can check this out and give there honest opinion about any of the 23 points below. If you agree or disagree with one of the points Please, describe why you think its a good or bad point. Ideas: 1.) - Poll, Make a poll and ask the community what updates they want in the next monthly update. I think listening to the community is one of the most important things to do as a developer. This way you can improve the game to a better state just by listening to the community. There for making a poll, people can vote what they think is best for the game. For example the new grenade launcher is a really cool idea to bring into rust, but what does the community think of this? Maybe make a poll about this and if it gets enough "yes" votes add it to the game. If it doesn't get enough votes for example 35% vote yes, 65% vote no; then stop working on that specific thing. This way if a developer comes with a new idea, the community can then vote if they should work on that new idea or not. 2.) - Team Voice Chat A new in game voice chat, invite people to your team and you can use a Team voice chat channel to only talk to you teammates. 3.) - Scientists Remove the scientist from the roads and put them in to the rad towns. This way people cannot do sneaky rad towns and do puzzle cards without even using a weapon. This way you force them to bring gear and a weapon. Also scientists on the roads isn't really a place for a scientist in my opinion, its hard to farm barrels if you are just a starter. 4.) - Steam Sub forum: Looking for group/players Make a looking for group or looking for players on the steam sub forums, so players can look for players/groups to play with. (this is already suggested for over 5 years) 5.) - Rust server filter The ability to filter servers by wipe date. Also the Rust filter should have more options, so you can easily find the server which fits the best for you. Because currently using websites to find rust servers, which doesn't really make sense. Rust Should be independent and players should not rely on websites to find best servers. 6.) - Gender Change Able to Change gender before going into a server. A lot of people asked for this but its still not implemented into the game. Maybe just a small option section, to choose hairstyle / color / gender. Buff: 7.) - Large medkit should have a quicker healing rate. Nerf: 8.) - Garage door It almost cost equally as a sheet metal double door, but almost as strong a an armored double door. Garage door is just a tier 1 item and shouldn't be this strong. The Garage door currently has 600 hp, should be lower in my opinion to 400 hp. 9.) - Assault Rifle (AK) The Assault Rifle shouldn't be craft able/research able. This is one of the strongest guns in the game and should only be acquired, by airdrops, tier 3 crates & cargo ship events. I'm pretty sure that this will get a lot of down votes, but this makes pvp balanced again. Especially if you run into a big group, most of the time they will all have an Assault Rifle. By nerfing this, they have a harder time to achieving high tier guns. So a indirect buff for smaller groups and even solo players getting a greater chance of survival. Bugs/exploit: 10.) - Durability roof & floor exploit Currently one of the most overpowered exploits in rust the Durability roof & floor exploit, if your base doesn't have one of these "exploits" your base is not strong enough. Hopefully this could be fixed as soon as possible, to make raiding much more balanced again. (indirect buff towards online raiding) 11.) - Red X while woodcutting/gathering wood bug In the Desert area most of the Red X's are not working on the tree's. 12.) - Rust Crashing when shutting down, Currently when people exit the game rust will crash and you will be stuck on the exit screen for quiet some time. Quality of life changes: 13.) - Able to pick up drop boxes & Lockers 14.) - No more damaging items after picking it up with the hammer, such as garage doors, shotgun traps. 15.) - being able to cook F1 Grenades, pull the pin and the timer starts. Throw it before it's to late. 16.) - Being able to draw on the map again. 17.) - Red X from harvesting tree's should glow in the night. Only if you are literally standing next to it and after hitting it. Night farming should be possible again. 18.) - Sound: The sound of the Custom SMG and Auto turret is the same, possible sound change for the Custom SMG? Sometimes you don't know if it a turret or someone shooting with a gun. 19.) - Sleeping bag: only the sleeping bag owner, can change the name of the sleeping bag. 20.) - Being able to load in a rust server when there is a queue. 21.) - Being able to place down Large furnace & Oil refinery on foundations. 22.) - Outpost should shoot animals when animals are to close to the outpost. You can't kill animals close to the outpost, otherwise you will get shoot at. New item: 23.) - Triangle floor grill A lot of people want the triangle floor grill added to the game, would be awesome to see some new furnace base designs. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ If you made it this far into the post, thanks for reading it. Absolutely not happening. People have made threads about this for several years and the devs are not interested. That's why it's not implemented in the game. They don't want it.

Yeah i can understand that, i don't really mind which gender i have while play rust. But if there is an option to change your gender. Then we won't hear the players about that anymore. What do you think of the other points?

Discord exists and everyone uses it and it will be much better quality as facepunch do not specialise in voice communications. 3) This would be incredibly annoying and no one would want it 4) This pretty much already exists.
