I'm pretty pumped for this movie, they've really sold me on the Pokemon designs through all these trailers. It seems obvious now, but it really wouldn't have worked any other way. Making a Pokemon movie with generic CGI models comparable to the games would have been a huge mistake. In fact, making a Pokemon movie in general seems like it would have been a huge mistake before they dropped this trailer.
you know how someone mentioned that they are releasing so many trailers with the intention of drip-feeding various pokemon reveals so we can spot favorites and get excited? yep I think that's pretty effective right now.

You can tell that a lot of care and love went into making the film.
They're actually unashamred of the source material and are playing it straight. How did it seriously take us this long to get this kind of video game adaptation?
Still skeptic, but I'll watch it nevertheless. Everything looks fantastic.
I couldn't believe some of the responses to the last few trailers where people were like, "WOW, this might actually be really good, I was so iffy before!" because the signs were all there from the get-go. I said RIGHT after seeing the first trailer, "Holy shit, this is going to sell gangbusters, be all anyone talks about at release, and get like three sequels. Calling it." There's too much attention to little details, it's too balls to the wall in concept. Like CyclonatorZ said, there is not an ounce of embarrassment over what it is, or some rote attempt to soften it for a mainstream audience by like, having a Pikachu that barely looks like a Pikachu portal into New York City and meet some affable celebrity lead... who's an ad executive... My point is... The Smurfs movies were cockfuck... But my OTHER point is, Alex Hirsch... (wait, he DIDN'T actually have anything to do with this movie? And it's directed by the guy who did Gulliver's Travels, Goosebumps, and fucking SHARKTALE?!) Jesus Christ, nevermind... this movie IS a goddamn miracle. I guess what saved it is Nicole Perlman, who co-wrote Guardians of the Galaxy, so maybe that explains the whole "unashamed of the source material" attitude pervading this...
Detective Pikachu is going to break the curse of bad video game movies
Is it me or did they tweak things to be just a little less "realistic" for the designs?
As a guy who lost his dad, that last line fucking hurts you got me by the feelies you fucks
The CGI definitely looks way improved from the first trailer. Too me it looks like they refined the textures. I'm pumped!
I see a few mentions of it but yeah, it really does look like they've redone some of the CGI, a lot of the characters looks way less uncanny valley than the first trailer
I really don't see any significant changes. I think you guys might have just gotten used to the designs, plus you're seeing them in much better lighting now.
So, the Sonic Movie will cease to exist, then?
annoyed father with his two annoying sons.
Sonic isn’t a video game. It’s a lifestyle.
