between solar, wind, and hoover dam they really could do it, provided the water shortage is figured out.
Even with more countries and states pulling their weight, will we make it too zero emissions in time And another thing to be concerned about, will they actually even bother Bills and plans are worthless if not followed through. A million bills are worthless if companies do not give a damn.
I hope it happens. As everyone keeps parroting, storage is just as important and I wonder how they'll be investing in that outside of just batteries.
Something being used more and more around the world is heavy trains on tracks that store the energy generated into GPE in hours where electricity is not needed as much. A few countries also pump water high up to do the same thing but I guess that would be less useful in Nevada.
I really hope Lets reduce ALL emissions in 30 years! is more of a bland goal. Actually wanted to repeat what I said in another thread to just build nuclear plants, although really if any state benefits from Solar plants the most then it'd probably be Nevada, given it's geography.
One of the few places wher I can see Solar as one of the primary sources. Shame with alot of these bills that there's no mention or willingness to incorporate Gen III+/IV nuclear power but baby steps.
Honestly, the two biggest factors i'm worried about are China and India. India could maybe change, but China doesn't give a fuck about anything.
I find it funny you say that since nearly all solar advances made these days come only from Chinese companies. United States basically just gave into oil companies when they should've been the ones innovating and are now lagging drastically behind in the field.
Nuclear power is scary and doesn't sound anywhere as appealing as magical green energy. You know, the kind that's incredibly cost-productive, efficient and doesn't exist
