Shame the new character isn't a new protagonist option, but glad that she's more than just a new social link.
Also sucks that this is only coming out on PS4 (at least right now, anyway). Does that mean they're really going to rerelease the basic version of P5 on switch?
No Switch version? But why tho
P5S is still unknown so that might happen. Persona is still a Playstation title first and foremost (+ the PS4 is more powerful than the switch), so I can see why this one is PS exclusive (for the time being, at least). If anything, P5S will probably just be the base game though.
P5S is probably the stage play
Royal looks fucking great though
Sony must have some kind of temporary exclusivity deal in place cause otherwise I don't know why Atlus won't port the game over to other platforms, it's practically free money for them.
Technically P5 is PS3, as it was developed for the PS3 originally.
P5R would run fine on the Switch.
Persona 5 S will be revealed tomorrow and I'd be more than surprised if that game doesn't turn out to be a Switch port.
I'm more disappointed they're charging so much for a re-release as cool as the new content looks, not even a discount for digital PS4 owners? Will probably end up buying it anyway like the Atlus slut I am.
Also new content so far is:
>New party member
>New S. link (school counselor)
>Third semester so the game doesn't skip the last couple of months thank god
>New area
>New events obviously
>New dungeon
>Possibly improved dungeons (changed kamoshida fight, grappling hooks)
>Unspecified gameplay changes/improvments
>Possible human Morgana aka teddy 2.0
>Wakaba is alive??
Keen as fuck
Do you think it's worth to wait for this one or should i just go with the base game that's already on PS4? I've never played a Persona game but I like the artstyle and characters.
I didn't even notice that, but I think that could also just be Futaba's friend that is mentioned in her SLink, yeah?
It'll probably be worth to wait. There's far too little details so far about Royal to make a decisive statement.
I'd wait. My guess is this version will have everything from the base game including DLC, along with all the new content added.
These enhanced editions makes the vanilla game obsolete if you can get the re-release, so it might be worth waiting.
Worth playing the previous games while you wait though.
I wonder if making an expanded re-release for the PS4 was a trade off in a sense for a base game port to the Switch.
Nintendo gets P5, but Sony remains the primary P5 experience.
Okay, thank you, I'm not in a hurry so I'll wait for this edition. Hopefully it'll not take long to hit the market compared to the japanese release.
The fact that P5R is PS4 exclusive first and foremost means they probably made it with PS4 specs in mind instead of keeping it lower end like they did for PS3. That alone could make the experience a lot worse for the Switch. The fact that it stays PS exclusive is just due to Sony keeping the best way to experience Persona games on lockdown though, plain and simple.
Honestly dude I'd wait for P5R but in the meantime you should definitely try to play P3FES(P3P is bad and a bad representation of the series). It's a fantastic start to the series and when you get P5 and beat it you will want more and going back through the games will become even harder to go back to since P5 has a ton of QoL.
If you don't enjoy the combat system in P3FES there is a mod to change it to something more akin to P4 and P5, the standard combat isn't that hard to grasp if you literally just to try to use the command menu.
I am very interested to see how they intend to fit a new party member into the narrative. Expanding the story is necessary, but even in the base game I thought Haru suffered from being inserted so late into the plot.
From what they've shown it seems that they intend for the new character to have a pretty important role. I'm hoping that means she joins the party sooner in the game rather than later.
Or it means that the PS4 has been out for 6 years and the PS3 was already dead by the time P5 was released.
I highly doubt that the Graphics are any different than the base game, maybe some new filters and stuff, but honestly gonna be pretty close to the original.
Theres nothing wrong with console exclusives
The switch version would require them to downscale the game regardless
P5 was an Upscaled PS3 game on the PS4
So the new character's thief design looks like a wild west gunslinger (trench coat, bandana on her face, 1 handed shotgun) What do you think her code name will be? Bandit? Outlaw? I want to see her Persona design as well.
She's on the school's gymnastics team
Alright, I'll give that one a try, thanks!
If you need any help just send me some private messages and I'll get back to you as quick as I can dude, hope you enjoy!
Wow what a good time for this to be revealed considering today I was going to meet someone off Craigslist to buy a P5 premium edition.
Oh well, at least I'm still getting a Morgana plushie.
Hopefully the pacing of the endgame is fixed. P5 is fantastic but then the entire last quarter of the game, you're railroaded through a dungeon that doesn't feel like it's representative of the primary antagonist, and is empty and boring anyways, then you're pushed straight to the true ending which just kinda... happens
it's a Persona 2 and SMT 2 reference
Don't listen to Spartan and his weird hatred for P3P, it's worth a play, but it's not a substitute for FES, if you're curious, play it after you play FES
Oh man i'm excited to dig into the new content.
