CLEVELAND — Senator Sherrod Brown is fuming after a video resurfaced of President Donald Trump's expected Federal Reserve Board nominee Stephen Moore trashing Cleveland and
Cincinnati in 2014, according to New 5's media partners at the
Brown is demanding an apology from Moore and a public retraction. In the video, Moore said Chicago was a "world-class city" and that Cleveland and Cinncinnati were the "armpits of
America."
Those comments prompted Brown to fire off a letter Tuesday to Moore saying, “As a Clevelander and lifelong Ohioan, I’m offended and troubled” by those comments. Brown said he
believes Moore’s comments “should be disqualifying for the critical role of governor of the Federal Reserve Board". Brown proceeded to defend Cleveland and Cincinnati by citing merits
and businesses in the two cities.
Trump is expected to nominate Moore but has yet to do so.
I mean Cleveland has gotten a little better, but Cincinnati? Yeah sounds about right.
I don't know a lot about Cleveland or Cincinnati, but calling Chicago a world class city seems equally absurd.
Especially since it was a republican talking point for a while about what a "Shithole" Chicago was (because Obama was from there)
I don't think so. I don't believe it to be a world-class city, but it's on the cusp.
The good parts of Chicago are really good.
It's just that the bad parts are really bad.
