In Japan, Masahiro Sakurai has released a new book collecting article columns he has written over time, and it also contains some new details. Studious translator @PushDustin
has been sifting through its contents since the instant it released, identifying the most interesting details.
The most poignant thing he uncovered is that Satoru Iwata asked Sakurai to create Super Smash Bros. Ultimate before his untimely passing.
That's so poignant. On another note, can we get an english translation of this book? I really want to read it.
Ultimate is a fucking amazing game. It's probably the single biggest and best celebration of Nintendo, and video games in general, to ever be made. So I really think that Sakurai knocked Iwata's request out of the g-dang park, beyond any reasonable expectation of what the game could end up being. And I want to think Iwata would be pleased with the game.
Somehow I feel like I appreciate the game more now.
It certainly explains the almost obsessive dedication to the task.
How the fuck is Sakurai 48 I swear to fuck I look older than him and I'm 21. I want some of whatever he's having
Hideo Kojima is 55 years old.

It's those nanomachines, I swear.
Though he still is quite youthful at his age, that's also an older image that has circulated for no less than 5 years and probably stems earlier back, considering it's everywhere. Here are some from the last year.

A big factor in maintaining a youthful look is also to maintain a healthy, stable weight with a good diet, as your skin is permanently stretched whenever you gain a significant amount and it grows for life. Despite the stress he puts himself through to make great games, he's also very likely conscious on keeping fit.
It helps that Japanese lifestyle leads to healthier people in general.
Commutes through public transport makes people walk more and their food and fast food are generally on average, way healthier.
And of course asian facial features.
Back in my country everyone thought I looked older than I was but now in the UK, everyone thinks I'm younger.
We just wrinkle less and have more curved head shapes which leads to a more youthful look.
