The recent outrageous and abhorrent display of pure racism made by a significant Echo Fox shareholder as well as threats to my family have made it impossible for me to continue to remain associated with the company. I will not support or be associated with such behaviour and attitudes displayed at the shareholder level. Racism is an anathema to what my personal brand strives for and tolerating any form of discrimination such as this is not acceptable. This notification serves as the beginning process of exiting the company. I will be contacting all relevant and interested people. My position in the GP and the entity that owns my shares are available. Depending on the proposal there are different ways to structure a deal, acquire my entity, swap positions, etc. Interested parties can contact me. I’m moving on the first deal that sits well.”
That must really suck considering he owns the thing. It's a shame the shareholder can't just be told to fuck off.
Unfortunately, share holders and investors hold virtually all the power inside a company. CEO's and bosses can't do shit about 'em other than appease them.
Unless of course you don't go taking investor money in the first place but who can ever afford to do that these days
It was borderline required for a place in the league when Riot started franchising last year. You had to pony up a huge lump sum - don't remember the amount - and show stability through financial backing from some source for the following years (and other stuff, but that's less related to investors). Very few orgs had that kind of money before franchising was announced, I think it might've been literally only Team Liquid and that's because of... Disney I think? jumping on the Liquid wagon because of their hugely successful non-League (at the time) esports teams.
unless you're a zuckerberg and own more stock than anybody else and can tell the board to fuckoff
Might be an idea to put a hint towards what this is... Anywhere Had to actually enter the article (oh the horror) before I understood that it's about e-sports. Fucking absurd to me that some guy playing video games is talking about shareholders and whatnot.
