65 is way too damn young for someone to die, shit. Shit that's only 2-3 times as long as I've been alive. I admittedly haven't heard of his work before, but looking through it now, it's amazing. Equal parts fascinating and... Horrifying? His Tokyo Compression photographs particularly get me, one part of me wants to laugh and the other part wants to feel profound sympathy.
Saw an exhibition of his work in the Deichtorhallen in Hamburg a few months ago, sad to hear of his passing
Seeing those cityscape up close when printed out to 1,5x2 meters really makes them pop; all those hundreds and thousands of tiling windows each containing a whole human existence, seeing the difference between my own living environment compared to Hong Kong was fascinating
