If you play the social media game, you win or you die get roasted.
It never ceases to amaze just how infuriatingly out-of-touch some people are.
NGL that's a pretty sick roast Warren made there.
Eat food that's already in the fridge though.
Even if their argument wasn't so limp dick, from a PR standpoint you DO NOT want to make your clientele look like the enemy. The entire post not only just reeks of ignorance, but some toxic condescending sass.
The tweet was probably written by a boomer/gen X. The instant they start talking to millennials (which this is obviously targeted at) their common sense flies out the window along with the whole "customer is right" ethos. It's like patronizing the youth takes precedence to maintaining a healthy brand image in their eyes.
Even IF coffee and fast food were bankrupting people: wouldn’t that just show that wages are too goddamn low in the first place? of course, thinking through that implication would require these bankers to actually think rather than just sit on a self-increasing pile of money and pay other people to do the math
Who the fuck takes a cab for three blocks.
Didn't Citibank make a similar twitter blunder a few years back where they were going to have a Q&A session with the execs?
The overpaid social media consultant who wrote this.
sorta weird how the people running these companies both recognize the need to maintain a social media brand image yet also cannot leave behind their infuriating out of touch disdain for younger generations
So Chase, are you saying that the reason you needed to take 12 billion dollars is because you wanted to waste it on coffee?
Because that magically gets placed there by the Food Fairy for free!
For Chase, yeah it does. I'm not sure if any executive at Chase would even know how to buy groceries.

This reads like something that was posted by my aunt on Facebook.
Most old/the rich.
Social media "outrage" tactics is blatant advertising and this one is clearly targeted at Boomers/Gen-X'ers.
It's honestly because this is what they were told when they were younger, and this sort of shit actually made sense then. It used to be that if you were doing poorly financially as a middle-class person, you could just re-examine your luxuries, no problem, you're good! These people grew up in a society where this shit made sense (or at least it seemed like it made sense), and have completely failed to notice that none of this applies anymore.
Kind of a bad move to do so on a platform that's predominantly used by the younger generations.

I once knew a young guy who would call a cab to pick him up from the front door of his apartment complex, around three sides of the block to get out of the plaza and then two blocks down the street, so he could catch his bus to work without needing to, you know, walk there. Note that there's an intended, safe pedestrian path through the plaza that shortcuts the whole fuckdangle so his actual walk was a block and a half on the diagonal with 30 seconds of stairs. But there were a lot of tragic-style fucked up things about this guy so it's not that he was just lazy, and the other parts aren't funny.
They're right about the coffee though. All those starbucks drinks people buy almost daily really add up.
Chase is a garbage ass fucking bank and their customer service sucks donkey dicks. For real, I legitimately had to file a fucking complaint with the BBB to get these dickbeaters to actually do something and fix a issue on their end. They tried to charge me 1k for property tax on a vehicle I didn't even own (IE a 80k car) and didn't even want to do any of the leg work to fix it. I literally did everything and went to the tax office and the tax people were questioning the validity of it because normally the bank handles disputes. Chase demanded I pay the 1k, I told them piss off and fix the amount. Chase dicked around for a few months until I filed a complaint with the fucking BBB, someone from their HQ who is a regional manager called me. Suddenly my shit gets fixed. Chase fucking blows, only reason I deal with them is because I lease. They always fuck up something, this year they didn't send the local tax people the correct legal paperwork so I got charged for 3 different types of taxes. Chase blamed me and I had to sent them a copy of a document I signed when I originally got the car. Went back to the tax office and the dude remembered me from last time and showed me the documents chase sent. They failed to provide the correct paperwork, so when I showed them that they didn't have shit to say. Then they asked me who is going to pay for the amount they lose out on. I told them It sounds like a personal problem. Took them a month to adjust the account, again had to threaten not to pay them.
Same with fast food. I know a lot of people who insist on eating out on lunch at work or when they get home. Spending 5-15 a day on food/stacks/drinks or whatever when you're working really adds up.
the people I've met that actually manage corporate social media accounts tend to be all upper class, not suprising there's a fuckup like this every few weeks.
when im taking time off work i spend a lot on coffee. at work there is an expresso machine and its a god send. making a good coffee at home without one is hard.
