took me weeks to work up the courage to get past this point
There was only one point in the Dead Space games that genuinely got me scared. It was near the beginning of Dead Space 2, where I heard this muffled ghastly fleshy pounding coming from a distant room. I had no idea what creature it was, but it sounded big, mean, and angry. The worst part was that it just kept hiding from me, making terrible, horrible, anxiety-inducing sounds. I looked all over for it, terrified of rounding every corner, for fear of finally coming face to face with what horrid abomination could make such despicable noises. After several long, agonizing minutes, I finally discovered the horrible beast that was making that awful, awful noise: A decor corpse had somehow clipped halfway into the floor of a side room, and was spazzing out, Bethesda style. The only thing to genuinely scare me in the Dead Space games was a physics glitch.
