A Minneapolis police officer was convicted of third-degree murder Tuesday in the fatal shooting of an unarmed woman who approached his squad car minutes after calling 911 to report a possible rape behind her home, a rare instance of an officer being convicted after asserting he fired in a life-or-death situation.

Some of you may remember this case from a year or so back, Justine Ruszczyk Damond was shot and killed approaching a police car she called. The whole situation uncovered that the officer wasn't really qualified and his credentials were questioned. It is a pretty big deal if you ask me.
I was wondering what was going to become of this case.. sounds like they did the right thing in the courtroom.
That's a first.
