I need help: Blender X Plane/FSX importers don't works
5 replies, posted
Hey there!
Today I got some aircraft models for X Plane and FSX. My intention was to convert these models into a traditional format, like 3ds or obj and use them for my personal projects. The models are the Ford Trimotor, S-92 Sikorsky, Westland Sikorsky Sea King and Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey.
Then, I downloaded the Blender plugins, but I find that just in one case it works, namely with the Ford Trimotor. Blender only imports that model (FSX), but with the others, an error message always appears on the right side of the screen. Why?
So, I'm here to ask you: can anyone try to convert the models for me? It's a quick and very easy job, just need few minutes each. I would be immensely grateful to you. These models are very important to me.
Here the archives with the original files: Sikorsky S-92 - SH-3 Sea King - V-22 Osprey.
Thanks.
I always use ModelConverterX ...best I found.. HERE
I won't download anything else as the Osprey archive had a virus..
Hey there. I'm sorry that you say that the archive is a virus, but I have just double-checked it with MBAM and it is perfectly clean.
In any case, I downloaded ModelConverterX, but there is a problem: if I open an .obj model from Xplane, nothing appears on the screen, but if I export the model in wavefront .obj, a file is created but if I open it with any other 3D program, I still don't see anything, despite the file is loaded as usual.
What's wrong whit this?
In any case, you can find the same models here (SH-3 Sea King and V-22 Osprey): [FS2004]
Sikorsky S-92: Sikorsky S
Please, let me know.
Import the Virtavia_V22_exterior.mdl
Save as FBX

Ok, for now it seems to work fine... but for FSX's .obj? What about them? Same thigs of for the .mdl?
Also, a guy told me there's a script for Max, but he didn't told me the name, and I couldn't figure out what it was. Do you know something about it?
As far as I know there has never been a 3ds Max x-plane/fsx importer...all use the the converter to get to max..
There is a 3ds max xplane .obj exporter... get HERE
If you download x-Plane and the Plane Maker you can export from there...problem is each version will only read the previous release... ( unless they have changed that since I used it)
So if you have a plane from version 8 you need Version 8 or 9 Plane maker...version 9 will not read version 7 see what I am saying?
