Pornhub Is "Extremely Interested" In Acquiring Tumblr

Pornhub Vice President Corey Price said in an email to BuzzFeed News that the porn-streaming giant is extremely interested in buying Tumblr, the once uniquely horny hub for young women and queer people that banned adult content last December to the disappointment of many of its users.
Price said that restoring Tumblr's NSFW edge would be central to their acquisition of it, were it to actually happen.
Tumblr owner Verizon is reportedly currently seeking a buyer for the blogging platform, according to the Wall Street Journal, which has struggled to meet revenue targets.

Yeah it sucks but its the name of the game and you can't honestly except your exclusive shit to stay that way for long. You shouldn't be relying on exclusives to rope people into your patreon anyway, thats how you get 1-month pump-and-dumpers. If people want to support you/you do something like bundle a ton of shit for ez downloading then they'll subscribe but they're not gonna do it to see the dicks obscured by the patreon logo or whatever dumb scheme someone's doing.

Except that if Pornhub did buy tumblr, they could make an effort t keep illegally uploaded content off the site. They have the resources to do so. They just won't, because they're scum.

Look, I am an active member of a niche fetish community, and the hell that the porntube sites puts the content producers in this community through is completely unacceptable. Many of these producers are barely breaking even, and they have to spend a lot of their time flagging videos that get illegally uploaded. And even still, it often takes weeks for them to get taken down. Meanwhile Pornhub makes extra sure to immediately remove pirated content from all of the major producers they bought out, because they only give a shit if it affects their own bottom line, and they have a virtual monopoly over porn now. Nobody else is big enough to compete with them, and everyone not owned by them is suffering.

Sure, whatever. Already told people in the facepunch discord (or was it the knockout discord? Can't remember). Anyway, I'm part of the wet and messy fetishism community (WAM for short.). I'm not ashamed to admit it. The people in the discord told me it was tame as far as fetishes go. And frankly, I agree. A lot of the porn produced isn't even hardcore. Some of it is even CLOTHED. And all of it is being illegally shared en-masse on Pornhub - which is why this a particular issue for me compared to some.

See, lI know a lot of the producers I purchase from on a first name basis. All of us on the big WAM message board do. We're a very laid back and accepting community, and frankly might be among the least toxic of any fetish communities, in large part because so much of the porn is female produced and/or amateur. And Mindgeek doesn't give a shit about what piracy does to harm all of us. (Yeah, I'm including myself in this, cause, well... I mean, a lot of amateur Wammers start filming themselves just because they want to fund their sexual experimentation, so I suppose it's not entirely out of the realm of possibility that I might do the same in the distant future. That's the one downside of this fetish: it can be pretty damn expensive.)

The format was a lot better than twitter for art posting / subscriptions. Twitter spams your feed with garbage tangentially related to not just the person you follow, but also their friends.

Even if pornhub buys tumblr, the damage is done. It would take years to recultivate the unique porno ecosystem they had going with artists.
