Antiretrovirals will give you autism. The only effective defense against HIV is by lubing up with essential oils, drinking essential oils, bathing in essential oils, cooking with essential oils, and occasionally snorting essential oils with some ketamine mixed in.
Fool, you forgot that you have to increase your anaerobic oxygen levels by exclusively doing CrossFit 6 days a week for at least 45 minutes!
If the men involved in the study STOP taking the drug, do they still die? Does the drug also work as a preventative (in the same vein as Prep does)? Is the drug, on its own, capable of driving back early HIV or full-blown-aids? If the answer to any of these is no, it's still a nightmare to deal with without lifelong access to the medicine.
It just stops transmission, so assuming everyone who is infected with it takes this medication before they have sexual intercourse as a matter of course the virus will no longer spread and will eventually die out when the already infected people die (fopefully of old age). It's not a 'cure' in the sense that it will help people who are already infected, but it will stop those people from spreading it to other people. It's only a first step, we need to get better at diagnosing the virus quickly to get people on this medication so that the infection doesn't spread. Most people don't know they have AIDs until they start showing symptoms, and within that time they usually have already spread it to others. Early detection and treatment is the only way to completely stop the virus from spreading so that it will eventually die out, and that will require improvements of facilities, enormous medical funding and changing the public attitude so that people will seek treatment.
Although 15 men were infected with HIV during the eight-year study, DNA testing proved that was through sex with someone other than their partner who was not on treatment. uh oh
Bug chasers will not be so happy about this
Lets not pretend they haven't had the cure this entire time. How the fuck is magic johnson still alive?
Bug chasers are a blight anyways, and are no better than anti-vax. Their discontent pleases me.
As far as I'm aware it's not HIV that can kill you it's AIDS. Magic Johnson has the former
They both certainly can, they both lead to the weakening of your body and introduction to other diseases & illnesses, which eventually get you got.
It's all the money he sleeps with idiot, didn't you watch the documentary?
not to put a damper on this but HIV spread has been mostly from shared needles and other parts of this country's drug culture, something that won't really go away especially with our healthcare system and fundamentalist christians putting their boot on any social science based policy.
You forgot mainlining essential oils
It’s not a new drug, it’s simply a study confirming what we’ve pretty much known for a while.
HIV medication has only ever been able to suppress the disease to non-detectable levels and it will often come back if treatment is stopped. I guess they weren't sure if this was enough to prevent transmission until now as it would be...um...problematic to test that in a controlled clinical trial.
