This is going to be one heck of a long shot but I'm at a blank right now. Had an accidental spill on this TV and fortunately the didn't destroy it. I popped it open real fast and dried the water out but it appears there is slight damage on this white sheet. I've spent over 2 hours trying to track down a replacement for this but have NO idea what it even is called. It basically diffuses the light from the backlights and there is no part number on it. There is no actual hardware issue but this small water damage lets some of the extra light seep through. I can't imagine something like this being expensive but I don't even know what to look for. Does anyone out there have experience with getting something like this replaced?
Worst case scenario I'll just leave it because it's not overly distracting but I figured it would be a cheap fix. The first picture is the initial damage and then the other is after drying it off.

But as you see, it's the white light diffusing later between the lights and the actual screen. Any info would be greatly appreciated!
You're pretty much spot on, it's just called a backlight diffuser. You might be able to find one for your TV on aliexpress or even the Samsung replacement parts site if you have your TV's model number, or even buy a bigger one and cut it down to size using this one as a guide :v
That's pretty much what I have been doing. Searching the model number of my TV and for backlight diffuser.
The model # is UN32J5003AF. It's A Samsung 32" J5003 LED TV. I wish this wasn't such a pain in the butt. I just tried looking on aliexpress to no avail. Where do you even get these things?
