One thing I will say is that it's sad that no one really uses portal guns in full games. Clever users would be able to really change the tide of gameplay.
I'd like to see a shooter where you have a portal gun, grapple hook, and gravity gun.
For real if I did an arena shooter, I'd absolutely have it. There's no way I could stop myself.
You're in luck.

Damn that's genius.
There's an OW workshop? Is this a recent thing or has it been in OW for a while now?
It was quite recently added to the PTR, it's not a "workshop" in the sense of TF2 or anything, it's actually a set of tools for players to script their own custom gamemodes.

It's really quite nice, a big step in the right direction. I just wish we could get a map editor, even if it was a janky system of creating walls and manually setting their coordinates lol
Gave it a spin. Decent idea, unremarkable implementation (though I appreciate that it's only on v0.1). Feels like your bog-standard generic futuristic arena FPS that you see from a lot of "we want to be the next big eSport" startups (their store description even prattles on about montage videos) with a basic portal mechanic thrown in and not a whole lot of walls on the maps where you can place 'em. They've even got the usual "cosmetics garage"/"career progression" tabs. The guns feel pretty good though, and it was probably a smart idea to have your portal gun available at all times (mounted on your other hand) instead of having to switch to it; I'm grateful I have a five-button mouse nowadays so that I can map the portal gun to the side buttons for something at least close to Portal controls and still have M1/M2 remain the usual weapon controls. But otherwise, it's nothing special; uninstalled the beta after about a half-hour of juking around in it (partly because it takes up 15GB, and I don't see why considering even PlanetSide 2 is smaller).
