Venezuelan opposition leader Juan Guaidó has said he is considering asking the US to launch a military intervention in the embattled country.
Please don't ask that sir. If you really that insanely desperate to taking him down.
i'd rather we intervene on guaido's side than russia and/or china on maduro's
These proxy wars dont generally help the innocent civilians. The people that matter the most.
We usually leave countries in a much worse situation generally. Look at Libya.
I wasn't sure about people's heavy skepticism of Guaido, but then I asked around to south american friends, no he's not just supported by Bolsanaro, he openly is his political ally. And the way he immediatly got along with republicans either ins't really encouraging either

Yikes.
On the other hand, if polls are trustworthy, the venuzuelian people is very clear on who they'd vote if venuzuela had proper election today

Maduro obviously needs to go, but the concerns about his replacement might not be completely unfounded. I'm interested what venuzuelian posters think of Guaido, as it's pretty hard to find his political agenda outside of "maduro out" right now.
Ok interesting but some brazilian leftists supporting maduro doesn't mean Guaido supporting Bolsanaro is a good thing or isn't relevant. Both are bad.
I get what you mean, but this could just be politics. If Guaido is to lead Venezuela, good relations with proximate South American nations are important. Bolsanaro really scares me, but not to the same extent that the situation in Venezuela does right now.
Just to make it clear, I definitely hope the US does not get involved, but I do think Guaido is a far better choice than Maduro and I still hold out hope that Venezuela can accomplish this internally.
Under guaido Venezuelans might actually get fed so
if you think guiado or the united states have the venezuelan people's best interests in mind you are a fool
