house rules baby
It's way more fun to see some poor sap with like 3 cards in his hand get smacked with a +12 than to play by the rules.
Why would you be able to put +2 on a +4 that makes no sense
The Tweet just sounds like it's saying you can't stack +2 cards with +4 cards, not that you can't stack +4 cards with each other or +2 cards with each other. If they really mean you can't stack any of them though then that's just some kind of tyrannical corporate-style bullshit.
FUCk you uno you can't stop me from getting a +18 dropped on me in the library
Official servers confirmed shit. Come to mine, you can also SKIP and REVERSE stacked +draws for maximum chaos.
I will never forget that one time when Uno made one of my friends cry when the rest of us stacked 12+ cards on the poor motherfucker This is why 3rd party servers are superior to official matchmaking dont fucking @ me
I bet ya'll don't auction passed over properties in Monopoly, either. With such arrogance, you seek to reshape the natural order in your own image in order to craft these so-called "house rules." And yet in doing so, all you achieve is to damn yourself to an endless cycle of raised voices and strained friendships. It is a prison wrought by your own hubris.
A few Christmasses ago I forced the family to follow the rules for Monopoly for once, auctioning properties like you're meant to. Holy shit the game is so much faster and more bearable when auctioning is happening. It'll still strain your familial relationships, but you wont want to actively murder everyone as a 6+ hour games becomes the maybe-1 hour game the box tells you it is. Tho stacking in Uno is absolute fucking banter. Thanks to a +12 stack a friend probably nearly died from alcohol poisoning as each card is a drink, but she took it like a champ. Middle finger raised the entire time, no complaining. Just drinking. (We've not played Uno since unsurprisingly)
The article says you can't stack any of them at all. If i played a draw 2 and you have a draw 2, you draw 2 and skip your turn. Which like you said is some tyrannical corporate-style bullshit.
I's always been like this FYI, it's on the game's instructions paper, it's just that no one really reads that shit and it's also funnier this way.
Yet in the game on steam you can stack them
I was exactly about to point this out, the official UNO branded game by Ubisoft allows you to stack cards (granted they have to be the same type) by using a stacking rule. Hell it even adds in the infamous 7-0 rule where you can swap cards with someone if you have a 7 or forcefully rotate everyones cards with a 0. Its hilariously chaotic, UNO doesn't even know their own rules.
Wait, +2 or +4 have always meant that the receiver of that card has to skip their turn, it isn't like that for your house rules?
Yes but most house rules games make it so if I throw a draw 2, and you have a draw 2, you can put it down and make the next person draw 4. Or just keep going til whoever the unlucky fuck is at the end has to draw a shit ton of cards.

There, no more reasons to ragequit the server mid game!
Fuck 'em my house rules own. Its Uno but I don't know the rules and its real time, no turns. Full physical contact wild west uno is the only way to play. The physical contact isn't really a part of the houserules either, I just don't know how to play uno so I default to violence.
uno is a terrible game, there is a far better playing card version.
Imagine having a terrible opinion like this
If you actually read the rules, there’s a bunch of shit I never knew about, like a points system that determines a winner after multiple rounds, or a rule against using a wild +4 if you don’t have a card of the same color (and a way for your victim to challenge you if they think you’re bluffing). Modified Uno rules I generally use: If you don’t have any playable cards, you must draw until you do, instead of just drawing one. Stacking +2’s and +4’s as mentioned above You can play multiples of the same number/type at the same time (but not multiples of the same color). Consequently, you can play multiple +2’s at the same time to fuck over the next person (unless they can stack). You can play multiple skip cards to skip multiple people at the same time. You can play multiple reverse cards and end up not affecting the direction.
Y'know, I never thought I'd see the day where I'd be applying Death to the Author to a Mattel card game. This is why we keep living, boys. Something new around every corner.
Everyone thinks I'm crazy when I enforce the "no matching color" on wild +4s rule but it always adds to the game, every time. The thrill of looking at the size of their hand and thinking, "does he really not have a green?!" and weighing taking the +4 vs being potentially wrong and taking the +8. It's awesome.
here's looking at you
