nothing new with EA but just wanted to share the video.
Honestly would be more newsworthy if they didn't lie.
I've been playing Battlefield 5 weekly, everything is easily obtainable without having to grind.
Most weapons feel viable and while there's obviously still a tier list as with most games, it's nowhere near unbalanced and most weapons offer different gameplay variants and still feel viable.
Unlocking vehicle augments aren't a big deal either.you have to play at most 2-3 matches jumping into those vehicles when open to unlock the tier augments.
While i'm not going to defend the past business practices of the company, for such a long video he's severely misinformed on so many points considering especially Battlefield 5.
You shouldn't make an entire video being snarky about something you've had no first hand experience in.
I mean, EA saying that Fallen Order isn't going to have this and that, if you believe them, you're stupid, it might not have what they say or it might end up having them, but I don't believe them until I see it with my own eyes and until after the game has been out for a while, adding them in later doesn't magically go around what they said either, they'd still be lying.
The progression system today seems a lot more lenient than Battlefield 2's
I had to have had a few hundred hours in BF2 and only unlocked like 2 guns
That being said, I'll never ever buy another EA game again
Before I watch the whole video, the first minute already.
Those shortcut kits didn't exist for a very long time.
The games weren't design to be grindy and those shortcut kits were added way later to give new people a quick way to get into the game.
Now BF3/4/1 only cost a fraction, BF3 and 4 plus premium is even in the Origin pass which is dirt cheap, BF1 just without premium atm.
Let alone how easy it actually is to unlock stuff, some of the special stuff mentioned is not even worth it, most crucial stuff is easy to unlock in the first games.
Lets see how the video plays out and I will edit some end.
Maybe I'm just incredibly tired but... I think the video is a bit misleading?
Wow, these garbage channels are really grasping at straws to stand out from their clone channels huh
I'm not going to bother watching the video, but I know that this is about the EXP boosts. EXP boosts literally do jack shit because you can level a weapon up to level 4 which is the maximum level to get all the specialization upgrades that actually do affect your gameplay performance. You reach level 4 in at most, 2 Conquest matches or just over an hour. so these EXP boosts literally do fucking nothing lol
With that said, there might be a possibility of the EXP boosts working for Chapter rank which may be bullshit, but at the end of the day, it's not too bad and is certainly better than BF1 or BF4's weapon shortcut bundles.
His attitude doesn't help either, throughout the video he's contorting facts to suit his narrative. This video is more about his Ego than it is about the state of micro-transactions.
So not just me then? Because he seemed to start making a point or an accusation and then trailed off on some tangent. I watched some segments a couple of times still wasn't picking up what he was putting down.
Clickbait.
I play BFV constantly - it's not pay2win at all. This video is some trash.
The challenge here is to justify putting a price tag on "skipping the grind", as opposed to having an XP multiplier in the settings menu, or a setting to disable the progression system altogether.
Hopefully more people see this post.
I just hate how all of these "news" channels keep feeding false information to fuel the hate without doing any research on the matter, or straight up lying to get more views.
And it feels as if almost every gaming channel is converting into that type of new coverege, you have AJ, YongYea, Bellular, MrMattyPlays, all channels I used to watch on a regular basis but now avoid because it feels like they're just doing it for the money and not for their passion.
Can someone just create a SH thread called "Misinformation Crisis Intensifies" already?
I swear, all those fake news and that "They require Spyware" conspiracy has got really out of hand as of lately. Too many Chinese Spyware misinformation and other bullshit over the current course of year already!
They started out fine and I distinctly remember the meme GAME MURDERED videos being pretty well researched before the asshats realized that they could literally just do the following and easily get loadsamone
Check reddit for an ongoing bandwagon regarding x popular game fucking up
Search for a quick ELI5, TLDR or fucking do a quick question on /v/ of the situation shitfuck
Stretch that motherfucker to 15 minutes
Shove in a bit of fancy editing along with the infamous minimalist huge text with game keyart thumbnail
Shit out the obligatory <corporate entity bad> drivel to get the outrage culture on board
Don't even need to play the game yourself, just steal others' gameplay and wipe off their watermarks lmao
Enjoy your 20k a month fucko
Of course, you have wildcards like this who will just deliberately lie or flat out pull off some quantum mental gymnastics shit to reach an out-there conclusion for that sweet yummy outrage culture mone. Honestly a bit jealous myself on how trivial it is to blend into these sort of garbage channels.
Pretty pathetic that you actually buy into this clickbait garbage that's taken over youtube
It's actually really fucking disturbing that right now on the first page of SH threads there are threads sourcing tabloid-tier garbage and disinformation for Gmod, Blizzcon, Star Citizen, and Anthem. This shit is spreading and the consequences for it are ineffective.
Gaming is entering a post-truth era for the sake of clickbait headlines. People discuss whether or not the games industry is headed for a second big crash because of lootboxes/microtx and sequelitis/cloneitis replacing innovative new franchises, but we need to talk about a games blogging/journalism crash and why it needs one.
Glad to hear EA is actually trying to be less outright scumballs now. Maybe they realized that they can't take another Battlefront 2 fiasco.
Especially considering that the micro transactions are a recent implementation, meaning that the majority of players already got their unlocks the old fashioned way when that was the only way to do it.
Ahh, counterpoint? A lot of modern games are only introducing lootboxes/microtransactions some time after launch. I'll admit that it's clever because it avoids early buyers screeching that the game is a skinner box … but it's still kinda shitty.
Then just increase the XP rates for everyone
No, they shouldn't be in singleplayer games. If the game is too grindy it means they are intentionally made their game worse to get you to pay more money to fix it, and if the game is balanced and well paced it means that they are just locking a lower difficulty mode between a paywall.
