I was going to say, I swear we've got these in Florida too, though probably not as common. Then he brought up the Disney example. I think it's pretty rare, but when I was younger after lake-swimming my parents would swab out our ears with alcohol wipes and tell us to avoid getting water up our noses.
The combination of it being ultra rare and ultra deadly as well as being a relatively slow death is kind of insidious as fuck.
iirc dont these things develop anywhere thats really warm, with the exception of them not being able to develop in salty water like the sea
