Speaking of weird weather we've just had our first ever tornado on land in our country.

Shit was like a million killometers away from us yet you could fucking feel it just by the sudden change of winds that occurred at that time.
Reminds me of the last time this happened

Oh hey, nice seeing my town made the news for once.
It's quite common to get dust storms here, but not to this extent. This was, by far, the worst I've ever seen. I've never seen one get that bad and get so dark as to send us to night essentially, and that's saying a lot. And to make things worse I was caught outside in the middle of the fucker too
Our local paper's got a heap of pictures and a few videos too, check them out if you can.

If you think that looks awesome. You should've seen the one that hit the east coast in 2009.
It was the inspiration for the Los Vegas scenes in Blade Runner 2049.

Oh wow, I can totally see the resemblance to that movie. Keep these awesome pictures coming, everyone.
How dusty do the insides of houses get after storms like this? Must be annoying to clean
Reminds me of San Andreas
It depends on the quality of your windows, usually.
does driving/walking through dust storms actually matter like in games you need dust masks n shit and i imagine cars flipping, but are either of these even true?
All I am going to say is that is a big bastard of a tornado. Extremely fortunate that didn't land near a town or city.
I live in Tornado Alley. This tornado season has been pretty volatile starting off. We've had a lot of tornado outbreaks last month and this month.
i was doing a highschool work placement at kmart the week this happened. i had bad sleep the night before and woke up at 6am super groggy.
when i saw the orange glow coming through my blinds and peaked outside my heart skipped a beat. i thought the world was ending or something.
then i got to walk for an hour to the kmart, was cool. the sun appeared blue.
Your car will need a new air filter pretty quickly and a mask wouldnt be a bad idea, but that's about it. the bigger hazard is visibility by far.
My mate drove through this.
He said 'it was cool''.
Don't know for sure but I did read that a huge number of smoke detectors were set off because of it, if that's any indication.
Goddamn these look amazing
