I mean, usually you should wait and see in cases such as assault accusations but
Randy is a compulsive liar and a snake- and has consisently shown he will always weeseal his way out of obligations, responsibility, and lies about the honest truth if it's inconveient to his agendea of "being a badass."
His history of outright fraudulent criminal behavior makes me really doubt he's innocent in this.
I trust his accusation that he received $12mi supposes to go to Gearbox, because 2K and Randy are being sued for it and they didn't even bother to say "it's false", raising suspicion about the nature and destiny of this money.
The assault accusation, however, is just a "he hit me in 2017" and that's itc he didn't elaborate more on the subject, and I think this is something good, because the discussion is about being paid to voice Claptrap, not about an "assault" that doesn't have the full context.
Considering the voice actor was also the VP at the time, he's also putting his reputation on the line with that accusation. He already had public sympathy so I don't see why he'd lie about this.

Randy continuously acts like such a buffoon on twitter, i don't blame anyone for believing in these allegations considering his past history.
Especially the ones to do with Randy's greed. Just look at Duke Nukem and Colonial Marines (More of the case with CM), all had very carefully constructed pre-release media to the point that the final product did not represent what was shown in quality.
It actually makes me more nervous for Borderlands 3 more than anything. What we've seen is great and i doubt it is faked (mostly because BL is Gearbox's main breadwinner) but you can see where my worries come from.
With any luck we'll see that prick sent packing, odds are he'll get his golden handshake but when you're a CEO that aboust as close as you can get to being fired these days so anything that gets that man's arse out of the Gearbox CEO's chair is good enough for me.
When the Forbes hitpiece about SC was posted, WontLurk rolled in with "I KNEW IT!" even though by the time he posted there had been like two pages of argument over the article being a smear job. His first post in this thread suggested the same kind of uncritical eye towards something that confirms his biases.
However, he did post a follow-up that clarifies that he does not immediately believe the assault allegations, which is what he had implied, so, it wasn't actually as bad as it first appeared.

So, uh, apparently the assault that Eddings mentioned was Randy Pitchford giving him the fucking wet willy. Yeah. The CEO of Gearbox is an elementary schooler in a man's body.
One of them, the one that happened at GDC was actual physical assault and was backed up by a witness to it, specifically Landon Montgomery, Gearbox's co-founder.

Honestly even without the assault allegations, not paying Claptrap was the last straw for me getting BL3.
I hated claptrap but even I have to admit he's a required part of borderlands.
I'll admit that he overstays his welcome in BL2 but that's because the writing goes all over the place from random meme garbage to stuff that's actually decent. Note that while I say he overstays his welcome I mean so in a writing sense - he deserves payment either way, and for people who were wondering why he wasn't paid for his role, it was because he was also Gearbox's VP.
