Dope game but I'm surprised he ragged on the story so much. It does decent work to stand out from the rest of the synthwave murder sim crowd (aka like, Hotline Miami and Ruiner?), plus the conversation interruption system has some interesting impacts on the story.
The only real complaint i had was that as soon as you feel like its going to take off, its over with a TBC. I felt extremely let down when it was suddenly over. especially since they showed off the real dragon gameplay, so I honestly thought there was going to be a second half of the game playing as him, but nope, its over.
Yeah hard agree on that, as much fun as it was the game was definitely over too soon, especially with that section you mentioned being in there. It's nice to know there's a sequel in the works but I wish the story had finished up more satisfyingly for sure
I was disappointed at first about the story ending so quickly on a cliffhanger but to be fair costing 12 bucks I can't really complain, it was worth it. It has some incredible pixel art animation.
I feel like the next game is likely going to be a part 2 of sort rather than a full on sequel, so maybe it won't be so far away
Also one thing that doesn't get enough praise the way the text is animated is a very simple and surprisingly effective way to get across the tone of voice of the speaker
