Any guides or tips on creating bonemergeable props?

So at the moment I'm looking to port the Rising Storm 2 Bushranger Huey and use mostly the interior design to give it a lot of detail, but I do not know exactly how to mesh bones onto models since most of my ports I just remain them as static meshes with bodygroups. Was wanting to know if there were any form or guide that can help me with this problem.
Name the bones the same on 2 models. The bones are then MERGED, i.e. the bones on the child prop are forced into the same position/angle/scale? as the parent prop.
