good. episodic doesn't seem to work out, whether it be because of the model itself or extraneous factors causing the flimsy model to fall apart rather quickly.

The issue with episodic releases is that rather than working on one project you're working on as many projects as you have episodes, and any issues in one project will have a compounding effect on later projects as you'll be cutting into the next project's time and possibly budget.
Thought that was a summon or something.

Since 2015, technically, but lots of shit's happened and Nomura had to both abandon working on FFXV and then finish up Kingdom Hearts 3 before being allowed to finally go full-tilt on this, so.. maybe a year of genuine work at best.

Well he doesn't sound like an emotionless guppie at least, so that's a plus. Only time will tell how his character plays out though.

While I'm expecting them to make Midgar incredibly flashy and probably expanded then skimp on the other four fifths of the game's content, what I really hope they don't touch Cloud's characterisation because people forget that him being a mopey depressed whiner was entirely invented by fans then reinforced by him being deliberately written out of character in Advent Children to capitalise on that popular perception.
On top of that, I really hope they don't include the retcons of genesis and angeal from crisis core because it seriously fucks with Sephiroth's motivation.
At best they might get hinted towards because I remember Nomura saying he wanted to acknowledge the whole canon or some vague things somewhere. Genesis is a problem however given that Gackt has revoked his likeness for use now.
Also Nomura you cheeky fuck, showing sections with Tifa and even having her in the party list, and then explicitly refusing to show her on camera.
