In an excerpt from an interview with the podcast "Pod Save America" released Thursday afternoon, the Georgia Democrat answered with the affirmative "yes" when pressed on whether she was considering a run for the White House. The comments come weeks after Abrams hinted that she would make a decision on entering the presidential race before September. She recently ruled out a run for Senate following her narrow election defeat to Gov. Brian Kemp (R) last November. Since her election defeat, she has focused on voter registration efforts in her home state.
Why Who can possibly think they have a shot here
I hereby announce my candidacy.
Trump really lowered the bar
Doubt she stays out of the 2020 race for the senate. Unless Biden brings her in as a VP, she's gonna see that the primaries are gonna be brutal and very quickly knock out a lot of candidates.
IIRC South Carolina is the 3rd or 4th state that has its primary. Georgia being next to it gives her name recognition and winning the early primaries, while doesn't mean you'll win, certainly helps get your name out to the broader public. There's a strategy for each one of these candidates if you look at the primary/caucuses map.
It'd be fine to have a thousand candidates if we had ranked choice voting.
