Now, it’s home to Skell Technology, an enigmatic technology giant. Initially interested in a remote testing site for its autonomous drones, the Silicon Valley company eventually turned Auroa into its “World 2.0,” a high-tech, high-security utopia of sustainable eco-cities and robotics research. The more I seem to hear about the game the less I'm interested. It's seems to be heavy on the online integration with no AI teammates. There are loot drops now and enemies have levels. You pick classes. They keep saying you can customize your class but I wonder how much. I honestly don't want to get stuck in a box.
Isn't Wildlands also online-only? I tried the game on the free weekend on my PC, and the game froze up twice during the prologue and said it lost connection to the server.
It is, I was playing Ghost mode today and when I went to get a cup of tea my sister reset our router. This is in part why my game was closd and my save gone when I got back upstairs. Thankfully I had only started playing and was only about 25 minutes in. That said, online only games that aren't exclusively multiplayer is ridiculous.
Yeah the tiered loot stuff is definitely out of place. I hope these things are just misunderstandings.
I'm down for tiered loot, crafting, upgrading, all that shit. I get that we have a billion better looter-shooters out there already and I don't expect Ghost Recon to keep up or set any new trends, but it'll be an additional little mechanic to keep me hooked, I don't see the downsides (unless they pull some loot crate shit)
In the last thread I said I'd take no team mates over the idiots we have now. After playing 10 hours in Ghost mode I would like to retract that. As long as you consider them extra guns rather than team mates and give them orders constantly they're pretty damned effective. Obviously I would prefer if they had a brain inside their heads rather than cheese but not having them around is going to suck in Breakpoint. Also, fuck AA emplacements. 9 hours in to Ghost mode and I die in one hit because you physically can't avoid being shot down once there's a lock. Fuck that. Shit I can't use in Ghost mode: -Bikes (too easy to fall off and die) -Helicopters (Because of those damned AA guns) Any advice for it?
-Don't take the bikes anywhere weird. Stick to the roads as much as possible. -Fly low. And it helps knowing an area before you try helicoptering through. There are definite spots that should be avoided because there's multiple SAMs in those areas. Take the long way around. Basically have more caution and patience with everything in Ghost mode. I died horribly my first playthrough of it because I went after a convoy when it was nearing a unidad base, thinking I could take it out before they got there. Should have waited.
I started a new attempt at Ghost mode. I decided that the best approach is to avoid story missions for the most part and bum around the map getting the easy shit like helicopter/plane deliveries and blowing up shit while running away. So far it's going well. I got to level 9 much faster than I did last time and I'm not stuck with the sadly pitiful 416. I have the beautiful xi556 now, which I was using at the end of my normal campaign. It got me through to Tier 27, it can get me through Ghost mode.
I hadn't planned on bothering with Ghost mode but with Breakpoint rewards I might do it. I know one of the first things people realized is to basically never fly.
So after my third death on Ghost mode I have decided that playing the game as an operator simulator is a quick road to death. What I ought to be doing is making the rebels do most of the fighting and just pick off the stragglers. La Cia playthrough will be the one that gets me through. Totally.
You can use motorbikes, but you have to either drive via the roads and when going off-road ride suitable off-road speeds. Basically you need to have a biker's death-awareness. And with Choppers you need the AA locations memorized.
There will be a social hub: https://www.ign.com/articles/2019/05/14/ghost-recon-breakpoint-an-in-depth-look-at-its-hideout-social-hub-ign-first This kinda sounds the the "home base" request that people asked for. There's a lot of talk on Reddit about how allowing co-op and having this doesn't align with the sole survivor shtick, but i don't see the problem. You can play alone and with friends if you want, and you no longer have the AI doing dumb stuff that gets you killed so i see it as a win.
Maybe my memory is wrong but could the AI even compromise you during stealth? I think the enemies ignored them as long as you were hidden. They were dumb as rocks though. Not taking cover, picking you up when it was suicide, not picking you up when it was safe... That's actually my biggest complaint about GR:W. They list all these changes for Breakpoint but I wonder how much they improve the enemy AI. It's not much fun doing stealth when enemies have more or less only 2 modes.
As someone looking to finish Wildlands this playthrough and attempting the Splinter Cell mission solo, I can say with 100% certainty that they can be seen while you are in stealth.
iirc if you didn't give them any order and didn't use the sync shot they could not be compromised, even if they were walking past right in front of an enemy
They can be but the enemy will try to ignore them. I've had times where I've never given them an order and a sicario I didn't see discovers them. Yesterday I saw Weaver walk into a guard, pointing a gun in his face and the guard completely ignored him. I think they enemy are supposed to ignore your guys if you don't order them around but sometimes the game fucks up and they get detected anyway. It wouldn't be the first bug in the game.
I've had them randomly shoot guys without being ordered to a few times.
https://i.redd.it/2nw68n0usly21.jpg If you look closely you can see she's got 5 knifes on her.
I was about to crack a joke about her being an edgelord, but then I realized that I have an extensive knife collection as well. Though that many knives probably becomes a liability in CQC since your enemy will have more opportunities to snatch a knife from you.
I just hope it means we can place items on our vests wherever we want. First thing i'm doing is making a vest out of grenades.
In the continuing adventures of "Dumb motherfucker makes Ghost Mode harder for himself for no reason" I've reached Tier Mode with only 4 buchons defeated, though I have done a lot of side ops. Up to Tier 43 and only had a few close calls. The plan to make the rebels do all the work didn't work out. As fun as it is to sit on a hill and throw wave after wave of rebels at the cartel it's not an expedient way of doing things. Paintball Squad is ready to avoid the tough fights and blow up cocaine. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/57978/95cca7a6-5d10-43fc-80d1-b39729211242/Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands Super-Resolution 2019.05.18 - 04.15.30.25.jpg

All because I thought scoping out the SAM sites around El Sueno's mausoleum was a good idea. I only had killed almost all of the buchons and was saving the top guys for the end.
You could cheese it and back up your save game, that's what i do. I died yesterday when my helicopter hit a tree and blew up when it hit the ground so i restored a save that was 2 tiers behind. A lot of people are complaining about the always online requirement for Breakpoint, but we haven't heard anything about whether it will kick you out immediately or just leave you in-game with no way to progress further. I hope they'll elaborate on that at E3.
Invitations for the Technical Test have been sent out, check if you got it. If you're having trouble logging in to the page they link to, use a different browser. Firefox didn't work for me, Chrome did.
Nice I got one. Thanks for the heads up! This closed beta is a lot sooner than I was expecting to be honest.
If anyone has any Pc codes I'd love to give it a try
It doesn't give you codes but it lets you invite up to 3 people on your friends list. I still have a couple of invites left so if you give me your uplay name I'll give you an invite.
thanks for the offer, I think I already got an invite from someone but it's not in my email, so I'm waiting to see how that pans out.
Okay yeah, I added you to see if I could send an invite anyway and the page says you're already invited.
