The Vermont senator's appearance comes as he criticized a reported plan by Joe Biden to seek a "middle ground" climate policy.
We need extremist positions and no mercy when dealing with pollution. Something we may never see enough of.
Radical changes need to be made on a governmental and corporate scale. Your efforts to recycle are worthless because not enough is being recycled. Buying 'green' isn't enough. Buying an EV isn't enough. We need to change the very way our society works, and we needed to have done it 20 years ago.
I agree with you 100%.
I am really wondering how we pitch this necessity to a politician that views it as political suicide with either unpopular reform for their voter base or they get attacked in their campaign by big oil companies.
Something I thought was weird was that we are seeing a huge push towards automated cars... if we don't enjoy driving anymore why aren't we just switching to trains or massive bus systems all across the country then?
I can't believe that wanting to live on a healthy planet is considered to be extremist.
Amazing, but sad, yes

Two words: Automotive lobbies.
That shit is massive here in Germany.
Here are a few interesting facts about the automobile lobby and its links to politics:
-Volkswagen is a massive corporation. They own brands like Seat, Skoda, Audi, Lamborghini, Bugatti, Porsche, MAN, Ducati and Scania.
-Roughly 15% of Volkswagen shares are being owned by Qatar. Yes, the Qatar who's responsible, among many other shitty things, for the killings of thousands in Yemen, but at least they're also using German weaponry for that. Technically every new Volkswagen you buy is financially supporting the killing of civilians in the middle east through dividends that go directly to a dictatorship.
-The current and last three ministers of transportation in Germany have been provided by the CSU (Bavarian conservatives), that have reportedly very close ties to the automotive industry.
-It's very common that politicians and lobbyists switch sides.

If you look at the past decades of the automotive industry in Germany and all of the shit that's connected to it (lobbyism, diesel fraud, etc.) you can't help but admire the guts that these fuckers have.
what the fuck does this even mean? if you aren't gunning for total climate change action then you aren't serious about it at all.
