Absolutely LOVED this game, it was very rough around the edges but the interesting spin it took on cover based third person shooters was fun as hell. The true Ghostbusters 3
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
Oh sweet, I was thinking about getting the original recently. Guess I'll just wait for this.
I wonder what the extent of the remaster work will be.
It's pretty amazing that we are getting this considering the legal troubles and lawsuits behing the tech, ip, and other licenses. I'm kind of worried because alledged company behind it (mad dog games) doesn't have a good track record with anything.
Don't mind me, just one of the best menu themes coming through

I've never played it, but I heard good things.
The only part of this game I don't like is when you're going through the sky scraper to fight the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man and the marshmallow monsters are dropping down from the ceiling, they take far too much damage for how fast they move and how hard they hit.
Finished it twice, and quite honestly, the department where it lacked the most was the graphics. So already, this remaster promises to make it a fantastic game.
What if the movie is actually an adaptation of the game? Since it was already meant as the real Ghostbusters 3 and has the original writers and cast... That'll be the best case scenario. Definitely expect some ideas of the game to be in the upcoming movie in any case.
YES

Remember, its been taken completely off steam. So this means that its actually going to be appearing for the first time for some people.
It was taken off steam, brought back, and taken off again. If the remaster is real and does come to steam people might want to keep their eyes on it just in case it has the same licensing issues.
if they're going to add anything new, i wish they can make the "new kid" customizable.
he's already silent and i think the OG crew usually call the guy with "they/them" pronouns(?), so adding a character creator will make lots of people happy who want to insert themselves into the game. but i think im asking too much hahahaha.
Oh man, I've played through this DOZENS of times on the PS3 and once on the Wii; so much cool shit in Tobin's Spirit Guide and the firehouse, not to mention that god-like physics engine. Not sure if a graphical upgrade is enough for me to justify $60, maybe some additional game modes or an extra level to sweeten the deal. The multiplayer was actually really fun for how quickly it died, and the extra console power we have access to nowadays means stuff like a co-op campaign (which was literally the main selling point of the Wii version) isn't an impossibility.
This game actually had a really fascinating development; apparently development was hobbling along on a wing and a prayer, and they only got Bill Murray to agree to it after they convinced his brother to play the mayor on the condition that he pressure Bill to accept the role.
Daily reminder that this is actually Ghostbusters 3, just in video game form.
Awesome! If they release it on PC, hopefully they fix the weird mouse control issue that the original version has. That's the only thing I didn't like about the game.
One thing this game did make me think of though was just how powerful the Proton pack really is
I mean in the films and at the start of the game its a proton beam that will horrifically burn anything it touches and break apart objects.
By the end of the game its a torrent of hot death, it has a Bozon launcher that makes cars explode, a stasis stream that fucks with time itself, a slime wotsit that can launch objects across a room and a fucking electron blaster
Considering they're held on military surplus A.L.I.C.E webbing it would be cool as fuck to get a game where some US troops are using them as weapons or something in the Gulf lmao
Ahhhhh, this wonderful game. When it came out, honestly I thought to myself this was Ghostbuster 3 (and still is).
Oh, nice, they're remastering the good one and not that shittastic top-down bullshit!
Please include the cut parade level where you'd fight possessed Thanksgiving floats
Best update my epic launcher for this
why would you say this?
What did we ever do to you?
Hope they have mod support so I can replace the character models with the Ghostbusters 2016 cast
I hope the achievements come back. One thing I loved about the game is how every level had a cryptic side-objective. Like one for the first level when you go to capture Slimer, if you blast the ham on the buffet table until it explodes, you get an achievement called "Kosher!" for "making sure the Rodriguez bar-mitzvah is as orthodox as possible"
There was also the one for hitting up every drinking fountain in the game, not to mention all the secret artifacts you could collect and populate the firehouse with. There was the dancing toaster, the haunted disco pants that followed you around, Ray's stuffed Mr. Stay Puft....

And lest we forget, the iconic "now go and rest our heroes!" victory screen to the godawful NES game. The level of detail put into the game more than makes up for the slight lack of polish, IMO.
This game is fucking awesome. The weapons and their animations all felt great

Trailer's out. It says for PS4 but the leak said Xbox One so hopefully it'll also be on PC.

Cool, I'll just play the original then.
