Looking at the articles he wrote for the National Post it really makes you wonder why. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/215542/d59ae636-3d87-4c52-9e9e-d38c2615fbe0/Screenshot_20190516-004416~2.png https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/215542/c31112f8-0834-49e2-80c4-304c60fb3cea/Screenshot_20190516-004349~2.png https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/215542/1a62c018-9df0-4b95-9549-be0313a14163/Screenshot_20190516-004526~2.png
Trump himself is a fraud, makes sense that he'd pardon it.
There should be laws against this, i hope they put some effort into preventing abuse of the pardon power.
the power of the pardon is virtually unchecked, it would take an amendment and I'm not sure its really a good idea anyways. The founding fathers hoped that the president's pardon power would be checked by the public appearance but obviously when the public doesn't give a shit the check fails.
Trump has drawn attention to so many exploitable powers of the presidency that I fully expect the office to be at least partially gutted, if not completely reformed, during the next non-GOP term
I mean the thing with the pardon power is that people can't really do anything about pardon powers you might oppose. It just happens, and you see it happen, and there isn't much to do about it. What're you supposed to do, protest? As if the President is ever just going to say, "Yeah yknow I let you off the hook but maybe we should just put you back in jail."
don't think the problem is the public not giving a shit. It's more of an issue that the president has no shame
