To be fair the old one only vaguely resembles Wick. This new one actually looks like Keanu because now they actually have the rights to use the character.

I think it's actually a Streamlight TLR-8 flashlight/laser. It's still an odd place for it, but that's what the movie gun has.

Yep, likeness legality issues. I don't know who was at fault, I just know that initially there was green light to do a 1:1 realistic recreation of Reeves, but right before release the decision changed.
Halle Berry's character, Sofia, from John Wick 3 is supposedly also going to get a skin. A character with her outfit from the movie was found in the files, but the head was missing. The site "Skin Tracker" was able to add one of the other female heads in as a placeholder so folks can get an idea of what it looks like.
