I kind of don't hate this. He certainly won't be the worst Batman ever cast. What if they're not actually doing a prequel and he's Dick? I think he looks more like Dick than Bruce.
He's honestly a very good actor, and I think this is a really smart career move that will help him overcome the "sparkly vampire" image. Still gonna miss Affleck though.
Just as a reminder, he hates it as much as you do. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nFA6Ycch1EM This is all while doing press tours for the films themselves.
This is actually a terrific choice I feel; not one I expected, but terrific nonetheless. He has already displayed his acting chops post-Twilight(but really he already showed his talent in Harry Potter), and even going off of Twilight, he can nail the moody/grim demeanor that Batman is supposed to have(I suppose we'll see if he can pull of Bruce Wayne, however)
He’s a great actor, always felt bad that he carries the Twilight stigma still.
Most people only know him from twilight, but he's a good actor. I still think Jake Gyllenhaal would've been better though.
Good Time is one of my favorite movies of the last few years
If he hated it why did he continue to act in it?
dude's gotta eat. and break into the industry. because of this he is now able to be selective of his roles, which he has been smashing lately, so it was quite smart.
You sign a contract? You work on projects to pay the bills and build a resume? Why does anyone do jobs they don't like?
He could honestly play a baller Bruce Wayne, which has honestly been the weakest point of Batmen that have been cast since Keaton (who had it on fucking point IMO), though obv. Kevin Conway is still GOAT in terms of Bruce/Bat balance.
I don't hate this, but I'm not really I like this, he seems more Nightwing material than Bruce.
Honestly, not a bad choice.
You would be braindead to turn down that money. You'd also be dumb to turn down the chance to make out with K-Stew (an actual reason he gave IIRC)
Eh, sure, why not. Would've preferred to keep Affleck but I can think of plenty worse replacements than Pattinson.
I thought actors are made to sign NDAs not bad mouthing the film?
If anyone had any doubts about him they should watch High Life or Good Time. Rob is super good
Ehhh, I havent really seen him in much of anything so I donno how this will go, but I will say he has some pretty big shoes to fill for me cause Affleck was one of my favorite Bruce Waynes so far.
Tbqh I think I'm with some of the other FPers in this thread in thinking that he'd more fit Dick Grayson/Nightwing than Bruce Wayne. That said, there are certainly much worse choices out there, and as has already been noted, Pattinson is a perfectly fine actor.

I mean honestly playing Batman has exactly one requirement, have a strong jawline. Rob's got a pretty nice jawline
I'll reserve judgment until further notice, but I can't say I'm necessarily excited about any DC movies recently, unfortunately.
I know this is satire, but it reminds me of the internet's reaction to Heath Ledger being cast as the Joker. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/1744/b4a7323a-1b01-4b9c-827c-cf5d34b4fb1f/image.png
Here's your Justice League bro https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/210630/2a509e50-ef2b-45a4-a7c2-bca6c8cd1ce2/1558093400937.jpg But for real, hes a fantastic choice. After watching him in Good Time I had him in my head as Constantine but he could be a great Bruce
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AtOwfo1ypOw Dude's really branching out
All I want is another movie in the veins of Batman Return. It was one hell of a great movie and it's sad that Tim Burton vision of batman was not reused, or more specifically, his vision of the world in general. The more dramatic penguin, the bruce wayne bored when not being batman, the seductive latex catwoman who got shot 7 time and straight up electrocuted her ex-boss. That was amazing, add on top of that beautiful imagery based on german expressionism.
He's being real coy about it, never says anything bad about the film, but does comment critically on the books and then shares his thoughts on his characters.
Oh my God, Crispin Glover as the Joker would've been hilarious.
