Hi guys, We're small multinational team developing RAWconcrete, you can think of as a spiritual successor to an old side-scroller Heart of Darkness, released in 1998. The story revolves around a wealthy but very lonely and terminally ill boy, a physics prodigy who's built a time machine and will embark on an adventure across the cosmos, with his black cat, in search for the cure. We post updates every few months and recently we published update #9. No gameplay nor audio yet, implementation of which comes in the following months. We're actually developing a DEMO to capture peoples imagination and to help us fund the full game, in whatever way, Kickstarter, pitching it to various publishers etc. We decided to split the DEMO in 3 chapters and intend to make each available to the public for download upon completion, free of charge or for a small price, we'll see. https://youtu.be/5Yx0SQoS69k The style of the game we call/can be called pixelated photorealism or photorealistic pixel art. It's a strange mix that hasn't really been done before, at least not to this fidelity. Things are hand drawn and are so as photorealistic as possible (including the current lighting which is sprites based, temporary to be later replaced). We don't use nor want to use photobashing so the visuals are even more appealing. It may remind and does many of Police Quest 4: http://sierrachest.com/gfx/games/PQ4/ss/038.JPG http://sierrachest.com/gfx/games/PQ4/ss/043.JPG https://images.gog.com/64ac5aee1e859c08f2d02c25c71383719c5a7630d07a097601ad09298fd6165e_product_card_screenshot_748.jpg http://sierrachest.com/gfx/games/PQ4/ss/021.JPG https://t.gamesnostalgia.com/screenshots/d/a/daryl-f-gates-police-quest-open-season/main_small.jpg Try as we might, we can't achieve that level of photorealism since they used photos of real scenes but we think our level designer has done a nice job nonetheless, even more so considering our game's resolution is often smaller than that of PQ4's and is constant. Ya, I think your level designer has done a great job of creating a photo-realistic quality that has a unique style to it. I think its all look really cool so far, good luck moving forward!
We're glad to hear it, thanks Smeetin!
