wick, wick 2, and wick 3 are all great, but this channel is not.
I find that it tends to have much more integrity in its criticism than CinemaSins. Could you explain what specific issues you have with it?
what a dumb perspective that explains everything about all of your posting history

In my experience, I find the opposite to be true.
Out of the plethora of "harsh, witty critic" style channels I have viewed, they often tend to use their cynicism as a crutch, overlook (or sometimes outright ignore) parts of a film for the sake of making a joke, and closely overlap one another in terms of their specific criticism. While CinemaSins is by far the most prominent example, they are hardly the only content creators to be trapped in this routine.
In an ironic twist, they more or less became the trope that they like to frequently bash movies for possessing: formulaic, interchangeable, and over-saturated.
Positive critics are but a handful, and yet seem to have wildly varied opinions and perspectives on what makes viewing the subject movie worthwhile. They will take a much deeper dive when looking for a film's specific influences and references, as well as appreciate many of the finer details that the harsher critics frequently overlook.
Yes, CinemaWins borrows heavily from CinemaSins in terms of superficial presentations, but their similarities end there. CinemaWins reviews a movie because they care about and enjoy movies. CinemaSins "reviews" a movie because they want to rip into mainstream cinema for superficial entertainment of their target audience and to boost their own performance metrics, regardless of their actual accuracy as critics.
At the end of the day, it boils down to a question of why people create and consume media in the first place. You could abide by the opinions of people who have scarcely any positive points about all but a small lineup of films, or you could look for diamonds in the rough celebrated by people with varied perspectives and enjoy a whole bunch of interesting concepts that you otherwise might have missed.
Every time I see a nice person I shove them out of the way and tell them to fuck off tbh
Nice people literally have nothing valuable to say
Both approaches have pros and cons, an enthusiastic person can have this contagious passion and energy for the thing they love, but play down flaws.
A critic is usually someone who loves that medium enough to want to see it offer the best it can be, but that strictness can be hijacked by people who are just snobs and they're hard to tell apart.
You still need to elaborate on this
This is the FP equivalent of that one 4chan post saying that "fun is a buzzword".

Were you raised by Dr Evil? Or were you brought up in a metaphorical country of nihilists? Where the hell did you make that conclusion?
I guess I must be pretty smart right now according to your logic, and so you should stop believing in that sentiment immediately and go meet some actual decent people, holy shit.
Disclaimer, I don't care if people enjoy this channel, if you like it go on, have fun, I just happened upon this thread and I think this is a nice discussion to have
IMO: intentionally tying your content to a one-dimensional format is pretty lame, whether you're going for positivity or negativity. When I look at how bad cinemasins is, I think "I'd like a well-rounded review instead", and not "I'd like the exact same thing, but it's about the good bits"
While its true that being "the opposite of CinemaSins" is the goal of the channel, I think it is a bit more well-rounded than people give it credit for.
There are countless wins given for all sorts of small details and passing whimsies, but the videos will often have dedicated segments intermingled with the more surface-level "wins" to discuss specific themes and influences, as well as highlight some of the more overlooked details:
-The John Wick review's commentary on the lighting and technical specifics about some of the action scenes.
-Commentary on some of the camera tricks used in the Die Hard review.
-The environmental detail in the A Quiet Place review.
(just to list a few)
Of course, it's not going to compete with some of the big names in the lineup of critics; one should understand that it's a hobby channel first and foremost. However, it tends to make a lot of good points that many of the more professional review channels omit or barely mention.
I don't watch it to decide if I should see a movie or not, there are objectively better channels for that. It occupies an interesting little niche where you want to watch it after viewing the movie first to appreciate some of the little things or references you might have missed.
Cinemawins actually wraps up his videos with his full thoughts on the movies, after the whole win portion. He says flat out when a movie does or doesn't meet his expectations, or if he flat out dislikes a movie, like in his Glass video. I won't go in depth, but as said above, watching one of his videos after viewing a movie you already enjoyed is usually how I do it.
He also took down a point in his Rogue One review with the Tarkin CGI, saying in short "We're not quite there yet, the cgi on him still bugs me" so there is room for him to actually comment on the video afterwards, he just does it in a more positive light. I do agree with polyhistor, I actually just wish we got more of these types of movie critics. I'm starting to get tired of the "Always sad, always disappointed" critic who's always frowning, full of dry as a desert jokes, the needless nit-picking to draw out complaints, and the need to fall back on their negative perspective on the movie industry to justify their gimmick. RLM parodies that while also sprinkling some good comments (but most forget that), and we got too many Nostalgia Critic rip-offs trying to bank on that negative-critic gimmick.
I'm not asking for The Happy Joe Show, but for once can we get less CinimaSins and YMS.Org and more Stuckmann and ralphthemoviemaker who both are legit critics in their own right but also can see the good and the bad in the industry without resorting to negative personas? Let's try to put the dry gin and whisky down because some of us would like to try and see if a movie's worth a watch or not.
Nah fuck that. I like this channel because it's just chock full of wholesome shit. It's going over why he likes a movie, and that's just so pleasant to hear.
Like, I don't go to it as a review channel. I don't see it like that. Frankly, I even duck out on occasion when he gets to his "actual final thoughts." I just appreciate the wholesomeness of some dude gushing over why he likes a movie. It also lets me enjoy movies that I've heard a lot of other people trash and thus made me question myself if I like it.
